Exclamation E90 Grills and Gills - Black Chrome or Matte Black?

Haven't found a thread that shows comparison pictures. Found some pictures of the black chrome but can't tell how they look just going by the pictures.

Anyone have closeup pictures? Feedback appreciated. Also, what would be the cheapest place to pickup the grills and gills?

Thanks.

Lots of stand alone pics of both but nothing side-by-side that I could find... Personally I'd go with the black chrome. The finish has a depth to it that really stands out in my opinion. And it goes well with the gloss trim around the doors etc...

Thanks. Can you recommend a good place to order this? And this part is considered OEM, correct?

Yes, OEM. I know IND carries them but you could also shop around at one of the dealers that sells parts at a discount on this forum...

Here is Tischer offering the parts... http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=611532

Just installed the Black Chrome 'Edition' Grills/Gills and IND reflector delete on my Jet Black E90 last weekend. Let me know if you want me to take some more close up pics for you.

All depends on your personal preference, I personal prefer gloss. Do you like satin or gloss? iND can provide you with that your looking for.

are the black side markers parts one can order from any dealer? I tried calling around for local vendors and they said contact BMW. But, when i called them, they only offered kidneys and said I'd probably have to use ebay to replace my chrome side markers.

Garage List
Someone has a pic on here of each one mounted, I saw it before.

I had the matte ones installed, bought the smoked chrome for my wifes X5, my 7yo son says to me, "Dad, the ones on the M3 look like plastic." The next week I had the smoked chrome BMW Edition Grilles/Gills installed... El Superbeasto approves.

Matte:

Thought Satin and Gloss are the same thing.....Shiny! Matte is what is different? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks.

BMW only made gloss black kidney grills. They made both black/chrome kidney grills & black/chrome side gills. Why they did not make gloss black side gills is a mystery.

the grilles on my 328 are gloss black and the grilles on my 335 are matte.

I definitely like the gloss better.

Okay so decided on the OEM Black ones but one vendor is telling me that the OEM side gills will only fit post 09/2010 production E90's. Can anyone verify this please before I order it? I have a 2009 E90.

They will only fit M3 E90s produced on or after 09/2010.

Just got my Edition Black Chrome grills from IND. They look awesome and can't wait to put them on.

Here's the comparison:

Performance (Gloss Black) and Edition (Black Chrome) - Post #146
Matte Black and Edition - Post #152

Thanks. Is yours a 2010+ ? I am trying to order the black chrome edition grills and gills but the vendors insist that the side gills will not fit a pre 2010. I hav a 2009. Not sure what changed in the 2010 E90 gills? Looks the same to me

i've had both and i like the black chrome better

In your post (link below) you mentioned you sell the side gills for the E90. Are these the post facelift ones? I would be really surprised if they didn't make any for the pre 2010 E90's
