You are absolutely correct. It is seemingly impossible to photograph faithfully. Jerez Black is essentilly a very dark metallic blue, like Carbon Black. Under artificial light it appears very blue indeed, sunlight seems to diminish the effect. There is no hint of purple or green as some pics have suggested. The swatch in the brochure (if you can get hold of one) is a good likeness. Rest of my encounter described in the thread below...

So, it seems to take on more of a blue hue when under bright sunlight. I don't see any purple at all. I assume the pics that showed purple were either of the IBlue, or were caused by cheap cell phone cams...

I dunno, I think in the right light it could look purple........

Fact is both Jerez and Fox Red are chameleons and I think you really need to see them in person to get a real sense of what they are.

BSM is my favorite color as well but it is not a normal color for the M3 and would more than likely have to be special ordered.........

TBH, I couldn't disagree more. When I saw a Jerez Black car IRL, it was actually parked next to a 335i M Sport in Sapphire Black; which looked good but not great. A very similar story to Silverstone II and Titanium Silver; again the latter looking good but not great. There just seems to be more depth in JB and SII, IMO and I am confident if most people saw all 4 colours IRL they would reach the same conclusion.

Certainly, it is definitely worth seeing them in the flesh. JB does not look at all purple or green IRL, just blue/black. Fox Red is very orange IRL.

This photo is the best one yet of both. It is a matter of opinion whether the High Gloss Shadow Line sits comfortably next to JB...

So this is what its really supposed to look like under direct sunlight. I like it! I also like the fact that under different lighting it will look like a different color. My old "Montreal Blue" 325is used to do that. Thanx for the pics.

Man, JB/FR looks almost exactly like CB/Cinn in these pics except JB is slightly more blue than CB.

Those pictures are very high-resolution and they really bring the car and color to life.

Love that color combo on the car and that blue is amazing in the right light. It just doesn't do the M3 justice like the some of the other colors do.

Take Space Grey out of it, replace it with Interlagos Blue;

then you have the perfect standard M3 colour choices.

Space Grey almost has a brown tint to it sometimes
