Sounds like you are hanging for the BMW 130, only 1370kgs 3020lb.

As for the Crossfire, I assume you are talking about that ugly repackaging of an old-tech Merc SLK with the grandpa's axe 3.2 engine, and the coupe not the 1509kg/3327lb roadster which is about 200kg/441lb heavier than the gorgeous Z4?

Well if you look at the Corssfire coupe, it generates 160kw/215hp, so has a power to weight ratio of 8.7kg/kw (19lb/hp) vs 7.7kg/kw (12.6lb/hp) for the 330. Know what I would rather be driving.

I have excluded the 246kw/330hp AMG engined version because we haven't seen figures for the M3 yet, so we should keep it apples with apples.

I thought the guy bitching about the spilled ice cream in his trunk had started a dumb thread.

No kidding

By the way... I would totally buy an F430 if they finally decided to make the stupid thing out of CF instead of sheet metal. The metal ruins the balance and handling characteristics of the car, and will forever tarnish the ride of the car

By the way... the F430 is just about the coolest car Ive ever been in :rocks:

just trying to add a little humor to the board but man bmw owners really are uptight...!! oh well... but the car is a little heavy, it's also a little sluggish of the line. I wouldnt take it personal, that's just how it is..

as far as being bloated, i think the car looks awesome..

You need to look up humor in the dictionary. Baiting a large group of people who share a passion for a single object by saying negative things about that object on their forum (yes, it's OUR forum - not YOURS) is not humor. It has nothing to do with BMW owners. Make similar comments on any auto enthusiast forum and you will be met with the same response.

Go away.

Humour!!??!!

I was f***ing well laughing all the time I was compiling the list of cars and their weights.

I don't think you were trying to be humorous. I think you were being serious and are trying to back away from what you said. I respect people who plainly say when they are wrong, rather than make up stories.

The E90 isn't that heavy!
The new IS is heavier. Again, a stock E90 isn't that heavy but a loaded E90 with all the gadgets is. So if you get a pretty stock E90, weight is not a huge issue.

the only luxury cars in the lighter weight range are 2 seaters

weight kills handling performance plain and simple, there's a reason the 911 keeps so damn close to 3000 lbs

the 3 is a great sedan, and drives great for a sedan but with each generation's growth spurt is gets farther and farther away from being a true sporting vehicle.

I wish our cars were 500lbs lighter. Does that make me "smarter" than you..?

Wishing and precticality are 2 different realms... when you become an adult you'll realize this. It's also obvious your lack of knowledge led you to post such a dumb thread, because BMWs are some of the LIGHTEST cars made.

Exactly, they are the lightest cars in their category, and comparing them with previous-generation cars is pointless because the weight increase has been overcome by additional power. Numbers don't lie. It's people that don't know how to read properly.
