GP Thunder 7500k Installed

Finally decided to mess with the AE's and went with the GP Thunders instead of the alternatives out there. Coded the AE's to remain at full power when headlights are on. I'm going to order some eBay H8 LEDs and mount them after I get bored with the GPs since I can turn off bulb check, I should not get any errors. Here are the pics for now. I apologize for not taking before pictures. I got so excited I went straight to pulling the stock bulbs out.

Bonus, LCI tail lights shot

I'll post day pictures as soon as I take them!!

Looks good for what they are. Wonder what the long term effects are of upping the output on a halogen. I'd worry about heating up the wiring.

Yeah, can't beat 16 bucks shipped. I'm not worried about the extra heat. I didn't raise the voltage on them, think they run at 11.7v? It's the same voltage it runs at with the headlights off. I'll eventually get some LEDs just to mess around since those bulbs are only 30 bucks. I'll keep reporting back once in a while.

Now that you mention it (and I don't know if you have them or not, but I'll ask anyway) don't you think that the LUX could have that issue (heating up the wiring)?

The led bulbs themselves don't have heat issues like halogen. They have less draw.

Took some photos with the sun right behind at 2 pm. Wished I would have taken some pictures when it was stock, oh well. The color is not as white as I would like and the outer ring is not bright enough under the sun but still an improvement over stock.

I have the AiBs and yes, they are better, but not enough to justify the price difference. I'm still not happy with the AEs. If I were to do it again, I'd probably just get these.

got my AEs coded to be brighter as well. want to get these GP thunders but have a quick question.

are the day time running lights and the AE powered by one bulb? meaning if i bought these GP thunders, would it turn the AE and the Day time running lights on the inside of the Halo white as well?

No, they are not the same. The bulb inside is a little tiny bulb and is used as a cornering light, ie. it comes on to light up the side when you turn the steering wheel past a certain angle. The DRL is the AEs. Hope that made sense.

That is correct. But the H8 is the important one, the H3 I wouldn't even bother. Personally, I don't set up lights to Auto so the corner lights never comes on anyway.
