this has to be the best way to watch nurburgring because of brilliant commentary of one of the greats Hans Stuck.

First time I've seen this with commentary from Stuck.

The sound of the gearbox is music to my ears.

I didn't know it had the commentary. It really brings to light how difficult that track is.

WOW! Not a current car, but at least its something.

Boring a$$ed BMW USA has something fun and interesting on its website??? I'm shocked! The BMW German site is far better in reaching out BMW enthuisats with information and entertaining video.

Nice video...Thanks for sharing.

It is not how fast you go, but rather how well you go fast.

He can drive fast very well without question.

He makes it look and sound so effortless. I wonder what he can do in a stock M3 now.

Well, he did the same thing in the 80s and 90s. He was racing for Audi in the Tans Am cup race. The man doesn't like to sit and idle; he is always racing.
Two of my favorite race car drivers: Hans Joachim Stuck, and Walter Rohl.

Absolutely love the comment at the beginning: " Lots of SLOW cars in front us..."!!!

No wonder, when you have a GTR, many many things seem slow!

By the way I also love this youtube version (
) as I feel that the sound is more 'real'...

This track variation is the "VLN track". It is the short version of the GP circuit (the long version is only run during the 24 hour race) in addition to the complete "Nordschleife" (except for one short straight). The manufacturers and car mags run the Nordschleife exclusively but only part of the long straight (Doettinger Hoehe). You can see the same track layout that Stuck is driving in the onboard that the link in my signature points to.

If you liked Stuck in the GTR, then some onboard race action from another GTR:

http://www.motorsportvideo.tv/Videos...pril-2007.html

The car is a privately built M3 GTR 4 liter V8, but the engine is based on an Ex-DTM-Engine block from Audi. The engine powers a Z4M today. The Driver (Michael Baeder) is probably one of the best privateers racing the track.

Nice vids. Thanks.

Seeing the Viper bounce around like that for an entire lap shows how bumpy this track really is.

Amazing video as I have added this to my collection of BMW videos. I have been wondering what type of transmission is in the E46 M3 GTR. He seems to shift it like an H-gate/manual transmission but I don't see any actuation of a clutch pedal. He does mention the transmission is a quickshift transmission, which must be akin to a sequential transmission as he can keep on the throttle but the shifter lever doesn't reset to a neutral position. Anybody have an answer to this?
