it's nice to see that Toyota is building a supercar. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this car is slated to release at $300k? This will be a tough sell as Toyota will be bringing forward a car in the category of some of the more well-known supercars on the market. This will be interesting to see how this vehicle performs.

Toyota's sports car soul died in the 90's. Lexus' are nice cars, but I don't see how anyone with a passion for driving would enjoy them. Like someone said before, they make cars based on numbers. Why have hope in a supercar from Lexus, when they can't even make a proper sport sedan—something most enthusiast would want and could actually afford.

Um, the IS350 is definitely a proper sport sedan. It may not be a 335i but it is a good car. THe IS-F is pretty good too (minus the ricer body kit)...

500+ hp, 9000 rpm, huge carbon brakes, 200K+ Probably limited production. Lexus' first attempt at supercar will most likely be some sort of collectible in um... 50 years? I bet the LF-A will be worth more than the F430 or Lambo Gallardo in 50 years. I'm hoping to get one.

I think it will turn out like the Toyota 2000GT. Good recognition in its day but swiftly forgotten, like last seasons clothing.

Neither are available in a manual transmission. That takes out like 75% of the fun in these kind of cars, IMO.

For 300K, I could get a 997 911 GT3 and an E92 M3 with some leftover for mods like a supercharger.

test drive of the lexus - not a very good review, but it looks like it handles like a race car and sounds sweet.

Got to see the roadster version at last years Melbourne motor show and it looked amazing in person.

I guess we should now say "Japanese supercar" since, with the exception of the old NSX, these cars look similar enough to be a type.
On the whole it's pretty corporate, pretty safe and not very compelling.

Agreed. This will certainly be a tough sell for Lexus especially at a proposed $300k..

Here's the article :http://www.nextautos.com

I'm a lexus fan but this car is just too bland........! On a positive, I like the funky rear bumper, front bumper intakes and the rear intake type something but that's about it. The car is pretty mildly designed to be a supercar.

On the otherside, people wanting high revving engine will be delighted with this car.

4.8 V10 singing to the tune of 9000rpm giving above 500hp would be
this car ain't worth $250,000.for the same price you can get ferrari 458 italia.
which one would you choose? not even close.

Toyota needs a 300hp sports car, not a 500hp supercar.

honda nsx is dead in the water...dont even mention it...it makes me cry that they axed the HSC concept, then came out with that horrendous nsx concept on the track, then axed that because someone probably looked @ it and went blind

long live the HSC...may your design be forever missed
