Guys, about the seats, I confirmed today that they are not the "euro spec" seats. The leg portion is the same as it was in 2008 for the coupe and sedan. The vert will probably still get the euro seat for whatever reason. Thanks for being patient...

Thanks for the pics Big Windy.
I wonder when someone will pull apart a US and Euro M3 seat botton and try to figure out exactly what it is about the occupant sensors that might get fouled up by the Euro part. It could very well be that it will work fine but BMW did not want to have to spend the money to test is out and prove to our govt. that it will work fine. |

Thanks for the follow-up.
Could you also take a photo of the storage under the armrest. I think I read that they changed it and made it bigger in some ways. Thanks.

Thanks for posting that. What do the new headrests look like? I figured the bottoms would not change, but was hopeful that they might. Also, do you have the front fascia dimples?

The problem with the seat bottoms is that 99.9% of M3 buyers will not notice / know there is a difference. Therefore, there is not incentive for BMW to spend the money to please the 30 OCD fanatics on M3post

Guys,
It might be better for me to throw this in the iDrive review that I posted a few nights ago, but I noticed something interesting about the steering wheel up/down buttons today when trying to select a song. They are backwards. Up is used to go back, and down is used to go forward. I could swear that my 335i was the other way around, but I guess it is possible that this is just how the M3 is. I haven't seen anyone else mention this before, so I'm banking that this might have to do with the new iDrive. Thought it was worth a mention...maybe someone can tell me that I am wrong and that it has always been like this. |
