No surprise here......GT3 still the king.

Cheers,

Nice video, but I don't like any of the cars. Too racey looking and too spartan. M3 GTS is really underpowered and it was so even in its base form. BMW likes the "balanced" word but sometimes outright power which overpowers the car's "balance" is just fun and doesn't hurt. I hope the turbo M3 will bring it in line with the other cars, like they did with the new M5.

But overall yes, if I was taking my car to the track a lot I would probably take an M3 or any version of it, but for daily driving the brute force/power of the C63 (regular and Black series) is just insanely fun! For that reason I am seriously thinking of getting the M5 next instead of the M3, V8 with some monster torque (even if turbo charged) is a great feeling.

The C63 AMG BS just came out this year and the M3 GTS was announced in 2009 with delivery in 2010. The cars may both be reaching their EOL, but that extra time would mean Mercedes allotted additional development for their Black Series, which they always do and yet the C63 AMG BS still comes short to the M3 GTS. Same thing applies to the Audi RS5. BMW M is still king of the German Big Three and will be for the next generation if the F10 is indicative of that.

Benchmark is still the benchmark. It's no surprise that most members on this forum would choose the GT3 for the simple fact that it's all (if not most) machine. Like Chris said in the video, just steering wheel, MT and three pedals. They're all fantastic cars in their own way but it just reconfirms what we already knew:

GT3 - no bulls--t, straight up drivers car
M3 - precision, precision and more precision
C63 - tire eater.

(the sound of the GT3, wow...)

The M3 GTS is the best, neither is the GT3 nor the C63 AMG. An M car, more specifically the M3 is already the best when it comes to engine and technology and now that this car has been modified further more makes it closer to perfection.

M all the way, any day.

You get way more bang for buck in the other cars. Seems like BMW just copped out a bit knowing that collectors will snap the limited run up regardless of price. Check out that amazing bespoke body work on Merc.

For your uber expensive weekend track car, I wouldn't be picking a car that started its life as a spacious grand-tourer.

GT3 all the way.

The GT3 won even before the comparison was done. Its the absolute King when it comes to track day specials where all others try to imitate but fail to replicate or match.

GT3 RS 4.0 is in a league of its own and light years ahead of the other two. Whether its straight line, precision & handling and feel, it wins in every facet of the comparo. It's no wonder the 4.0 won 2011 car of the year over stiff competition from the 458 and mclaren. It's simply that good.

Great video too!

I agree but that's not to say the GTS is a bad car, it's BMW being BMW - you're going to get what BMW does so well albeit at a steeper price (limited edition run).

If I were to pick one to be disappointed in, I would have to choose the C63. We understand why the GT3 RS and M3 GTS exist, it's up there in cars you WANT to take to the track. The C63 performs, but it's like Mercedes decided, well we'll improve the car but lets make the car produce more smoke at the rear than the standard C63. As a car trying to de-throne the M3, I would have liked to see Mercedes actually try to refine the C63. It has the power, great but let's try to tune it so it has more balance like the M3.

The sound of the GT3rs is THE sound. Amazing.
But the M3 is a serious competitor.

This was an awesome review, no doubt that the porsche was quickest. Was it just me because i though chris seemed way more confident in the gt3 than in the other two. Harris seemed to be least in tune with the gts with a the understeer, the gts has been praised by most of the press as a better handling car than the gt3. In my mind the gts would have been 1-1.5 seconds slower, also the pirellis are holding the gts back

M3 GTS last place. Everyday driving and track driving combined, just not special enough.

that black series looks like so much fun. i can see myself driving that and having the stupidest grin on my face and laughing all day while smoking the tires and sliding it. meanwhile... the ///Marketing division could've done a much better job on the GTS - such a disappointment. you'd think that a stroked motor and reduced weight would make it a rocket. and nothing more needs to be said about the RS. good lord what a car

how is it coming short? you really think it is coming up short because of .1 of a sec? If you want stat race, then why dont you look at the ring time for the GTS and the Blk.
