Getting a new DCT at 46000 miles, break in?
Hello everyone.
I had some problems with my 2011 e93 and after some back and forth my dealer got me a new DCT. I tried the search but couldn't find much information on how to break in the gearbox / clutches. The fluid is supposed to be lifetime so there shouldn't be a problem but I am still on the fence about if there is caution needed or not. Any input is appreciated. Rainer. |

Hi Rainer,
I don't believe any break in is needed. Had a new DCT beginning of the year as well when the dealer said break in not needed (for what thats worth..). Regardless, as long as you don't plan to start with a few weeks on the track, its fair to assume normal driving will be gentle enough. Cheers |

I thought so too.
Since the oil can stay in there shouldn't be a problem. I will take it easy the first couple of hundred miles. Thanks Rainer |
