Hey Anderson, thanks for the pictures of the HPAW car! The weather was bad that weekend. Hot & windy. We did a 1:52 pretty easily in November, and the car is quite a bit quicker (2s/lap?) now. Too bad the ECU decided we had had enough fun before the TimeAttack...
For some reason, my computer did not feel like working with our in-car video file, so no video My favorite shots of the HPAW car (from last November): And eventually... |

Jeff - thanks so much for guiding me around the track for the first few sessions. It was nice to see how the pros actually drive and an eye opening experience to be sitting on the passenger seat. Are you going to be out in Willow Springs? It'll be nice if you can make it out! I'll let you drive my car during the practice session on Saturday in return for advice =D
No aerodynamics part is allowed but cars in enthusiast class can have a lip that extends no longer than 2" from the car's body part. Full rule is here: http://redlinetimeattack.com/ul/file...ttackRules.pdf Thanks for the advice about willow springs, I'm glad that i wont be cooking my brakes as much - I might try to get Stoptechs on before the race though, depending whether budget permits. If not I might try to get the front set at least and tweak the suspension accordingly so that the slight brake bias will not upset the car. Green Hell - You are right, our M3s are very competitive in redline time attack. I did a 1:17.6 in NJMP lightning track back in April and I took overall Enthusiast win, and I was only 0.2 seconds away from Street Tire class RWD 1st place too. But what I realized that a lot of the events out in the east or midwest are not as competitive as all the big players do not come out here to race. Being out in the west, competition is a lot stiffer and there are dedicated shops who campaign pretty much race cars in Street Tire Class and even enthusiast. Which RTA event are you going to try on next? I still can't get over how gorgeous your car is!! Harold - thanks so much for the support, the car is going down there in a week and we'll get it set up to take 1st place in Willow Springs! Dustin - let's make the harness bar happen! Will get in touch with you soon. Some pictures of the Advan RS - 19X9 ET 20 and 19x19 ET 22 on 255/275 Tires: |
