VT2-625 and increased exhaust soot

I have had my M3 for 7 years now and recently added an ESS 625 SC. Obviously, there will be more exhaust but should there be more soot produced? I have the same exhaust for the past 7 years and there is soot build up on the inside of the tips (silver) but over months. Since I installed the SC the inside of the tips are completely black (1 week). Is this normal?

The cars runs fine and no errors. There is nothing indicating a problem during acceleration even at WOT.

Thanks
Dave

I noticed this as well. ESS has the car running really rich for safety. I got a different tune from them and I think I've noticed less soot but it could be my imagination.

Powder coat the exhaust black... Problem solved I've been supercharged for over a year and hadn't noticed

tune is just super rich. I'm fully catless and notice the soot specs on the bumper and trunk after a few pulls as well.

^ ^ yup what they said. ARF's are a bit rich even on normal driving and wot but that's to be expected.

As mentioned above, it's most likely built into the tune for reliability and safety. What I'd do is maybe ceramic coat the rear bumper and the tips to make them easier to clean.

on this topic, has anyone switched from an ESS SC tune to BPM or TTFS?

I understand and respect the fact that ESS made it rich for safety and considering M3's would be running the kits all over the world, but with my kit being out of warranty I wonder how much power could be gained with a leaner tune.
