Is my Wheel/Tire combo rubbing? Pic Inside

Looking at this photo, is that mark on my tire evidence that my tire/wheel is rubbing up against the fender?

What is your specific tire, tire size, and what thickness spacer?

Same question as above. I'd love to say "not a chance" because of your fairly conservative tire sizes (RE11's great choice btw) but you've got a drop and a "spacered" look to the wheel you're showing. So yes...that one's rubbing. Same look I had from the inner fender liner on an old Mustang tire I pushed at the track once in awhile.

I dont know if it is just the angle of the pic, but that looks like a tall tire. As the others mentioned post up your tire specs. It definitely looks like it is rubbing to me as well.

I thought I was going to be okay considering all the posts I read on here about how even more aggressive setups don't rub. Not sure what I'm going to do. The driver side rear tire has an ever so slight rub against the tire, but the worst is the passenger rear tire, ala pic above.

i'm running oem 18" with 275/35/18 nto5 tires on stock suspension. i tried 12mm spacers in the rear, but would rub over sharp freeway bumps. went to 10mm rear spacers

Anything much over 26" OD will rub with stock suspension. If lowered, and unless you use a lot of camber, it will definitely rub. 275/35-18 is a very popular size with folks running a square setup, but it is 0.7" smaller in OD than your tire.

So, the picture in Post #1 is of the right rear (passenger side) tire? It looks more like the driver's side front from the angle of the photo. I think most of us have assumed it is the front tire in the picture.

Correct. Picture is of the passenger rear tire. Driver side rear tire has an ever so slight rub mark against it, but it’s very small and probably not even worth mentioning.
The front tires look fine, I can’t find any rub marks on them.

Can’t see anything.

In the end, I think this is something I’m going to have to A) live with or B) go with a smaller spacer.
It doesn’t look like it rubs too often. It must be one method I’m doing when driving that’s causing it(i.e. like pulling out of a particular driveway, if that even can cause it) Appreciate everyone's help.

It's a bit surprising that you're having problems. I've seen reports of people with OEM wheel and tire sizes reporting success with up to 15 MM spacers on the rear. It's possible that your Bridgestone's run larger than PS2's or have a squarer shoulder. You can try cranking in a bit more negative camber in the rear.

Wait, you're running a 265 in the rear and having issues? How lowered are you? I ask b/c I'm 1/2" lower than stock with 285's in the rear and not having issues. No spacers, but those are coming this week (12.5mm from Turner). Will have to see if I have any issues there as well. Hope not as I love the RE-11s (also the 19" OEM wheels) and am looking forward to a bit wider stance.

Edit: Agree with 808MGuy. I'm at -1.97 camber in the rear which could be helping as well...

RE-11 are more squared off than PS2s. Still, his setup doesn't seem that aggressive. Espicially compared to guys running 20x10.5 with 285/30/20 tires like me. That particular spec runs about 0.5 taller than stock and I get no rubbing. Maybe its an alignment issue. Dialing in a little more camber might help if it is rubbing.

You’re right, it’s really not that aggressive. I’ve heard/read/seen folks on here running much more aggressive setups. No alignment issue, got a fresh alignment done. Can’t remember off the top of my head, but my camber was -1.50 - -2.0 roughly. Don’t know if I want to dial in more camber considering I only drive on the street, maybe though.

Yeap, 265’s out back. Not that lowered, just the Eibach’s. And I’m not a super fat guy, I weigh 175lbs. I guess I could go with more negative camber.
I’m watching the tire closely, it doesn’t look like I’m rubbing lately. I have a feeling that rub was a ‘one time rub’ but will come back if I find that ‘one time’ scenario on the street.

OK, finally got the spacers installed, and I'm definitely encountering rubbing in the rear with the 19" 285 RE-11 + 12.5 mm spacer. Front (265) is fine with 15mm spacer. (sorry for the crappy iPhone pic)

Same spacers with my new 18" APEX ARC-8 wheel and a square 275 R6 setup... no issues.

Are you running 35 series tires both front and rear? I'd expect 265/35 on the front to rub on the fender liner both front and rear at full lock especially with +15MM spacers.

Nothing so far... Will be double checking again Sunday when I put the track setup on for a day with NASA. I don't spend much - if any - time at full lock though.

My 255/35 Vred's on 9"+22 wheels barely touch on the right front at full lock (which I only found because I looked for a friend with the same setup). You're right that full lock rubbing shouldn't be a big issue for most of us. It's a fairly common belief here that 265/35 won't work on the front, but I'm running across more postings where people are doing it. Good luck with it. Please post if you have issues.

The more I think about it, I think the OP didn't have rubbing, but has gotten his tire marked on a low curb or uneven bit of pavement that he ran across just right. It's also possible that something got wedged up in his wheel well temporarily.

I would tend to agree as every time I hit a little dip in the road I could hear the rubbing... sounded awful.
