Will $52k get me a Base '13 Coupe ED?

I've been looking hard for an M3. I've never been one to option out cars and I think the M3 is perfectly equipped without options. Would I be able to walk into a dealer, order a base m3 with no options, ED, for $53k?

This is my logic.
ED '13 Coupe - $53665 invoice (including delivery and gas guzzler tax). Are dealers going to move these under invoice at this time?
$1500 holiday cash
Total: $52k

I think it would be a bangin' bargain if I could get one at $52K since 2008/2009s with 25-40k miles are still going for $40K+ at used car lots and I don't need the extra options.

ED invoice pricing for M3's stopped months ago. Think USA port of entry invoice and you'd be back in the ballpark.

Not true. ED M3s started coming out of dealer allocations so most dealers now want at least ED MSRP to make some profit, and many won't do ED at all even at MSRP because ED is a lot of extra work and the dealer supposedly does not get AVP money. But a dealer can still sell you a M3 at ED invoice + mark-up if he has an allocation and wants to move it. You will need to pay more markup than in the past; clearly the days of ED invoice + $250 are over for now -- but likely not the 5K markup USA port of entry would represent.

For $50k you could get into a nice 335i coupe. I would look at those with your price range.

Good luck.

+1
The best you'll get is a little less than ED MSRP.. that's if you get a dealer to work with you. Then add the price of the trip. At that point you're better off getting a US invoice price.

Unless you're planning to go to Germany anyway...

huh what?

The CF roof has always been standard regardless of packages or anything else (and moonroof has always been a no cost option)

Order it now. I just did something similar though I got a few more options.

As you can tell from the forums getting an ED allocation near invoice is rare.

Get speed cloth. As we saw when the E9X came out, the previous generation that will be most valued will be the most-enthusiast oriented car (least options) with cloth. AW/Cloth/CF is the perfect M.
