No, don't worry. You should be all right, but in case put your 'flame-suit' on
Good luck with your car search.

Is there a reason you asked? Got anything in mind?
I've seen quite a few around the $16-19k range that are 2001 or 2002, so i don't think it would be impossible to find one that's $15k with no restriction on mileage.. right? |

Well, you're jersey and I'm jersey, so here are my thoughts:
I've been looking for a 2nd car to go tracking with, and the e46 has been on my radar. I don't think you're find a good car for anywhere near 15k, even on the 2001 (first year models). I think you have to wait a bit more for prices to fall on the e46 to get one near the 15k range. You are in the range on e36 M3s and there are a bunch to choose from way under the 15k range. So if you are set on a e46, wait. If you want a car now, look at the e36 models.

yeah i def agree with you.. i've found two or three that are in the $17-19k range, but those have ridiculous mileage on them (like 180k+ miles)..
i cannot wait, and the e36 M3 looks butt ugly to me, so instead i'm going for a 3-series vert or coupe 2003-2005 range under $13k, with under 75k miles, FULLY LOADED i've already found a half-dozen in my area that satisfy these req. so i guess the M3 will have to wait until i get a real job |

yeah the M3 would've been a sex magnet but a 3-coupe is very nice as well, esp the sports ones as you said.. plus that will save me some $$ i can put into my E92-fund for ten years from now haha

i think i saw that one but it has "major titles issues" and "major damage/accident" so i skipped it.. in my experience major accidents (no matter how good the garage is that fixes the car) irreversibly alter the car for the worse..
