The RR should obviously kill the M3, I'm assuming they are going to throw in a twist to the competition somehow...
The two are starting at opposite sides of the track, so maybee they goal is for the bike to catch the M3 before a 1 lap finish? The fact that this is being posted on BMW Motorrad leads me to believe that even with a staggered start the RR will still kick some ass |

If this was a drag race then the RR will win for sure. However, this is not a drag race, it's on a road course.
I suspect the M3 will out-corner the RR however the RR will have the advantage on the straights. Given the track layout, I'm edging towards the M3 as the victor.

What do you mean with outcorner? If you mean going slightly faster around turns then yes, but its not like the bike will go through corners 20mph slower then the car..... Bikes are NOT that slow around corners as many people think, I found a good video of a 911 GTR against a 600cc R6: Now keep in mind the GT3 has a better power weight ratio, a intransigently setup compared to the M3 (Performance over Comfort), and the bike in this video is a 600cc(120 BHP, NO DTC, NO Race ABS). The S1000RR is the currently strongest and fastest Sportbike out there, it has Traction Control and ABS (You can accelerate and break more agressive). Sorry guys but in an even race the S will destroy any Street Car. |

The vid you posted is on a track with a lot of long straights, the edge will definately be for the bike.

I believe that for straight line acceleration. Not sure the same is true around the track due to larger contact patch for the car as well as better braking. I saw a similar comparison against a Lambo and the bike could not brake as hard as the car nor carry as much speed through the turns. It was of course WAY faster down the straights.

I don't think you guys saying the car will be faster quite understand just how fast the RR is. The only way the M3 can win is if the race is massively stacked in its favor, like by putting it on a small autox course or by giving the M3 a huge head start.
