CHP sucks

okay, so as i was driving around 70 in the right lane, just about to exit in half a mile, i see a CHP car pulling someone over from the middle Lane.

He gets in front of me with his lights on and we both get off at the same off ramp and he is in the right lane telling the guy to pull into the gas station and then he Stops in the gas station and begins to talk to the other guy as i observe from the Left lane waiting for the light to turn green.

As the light turns green and i enter under the bridge while making my left, i push the gas and have the exhaust + Airfilter make some echoing noises as a leave but i do not spin the wheels or go over the speed limit what so ever.

about a mile down the road, i see in my rear view mirror a CHP guy going crazy on the loud speaker and telling me to pull over

This Cop gets out of the car and tells me that "Wow, thought u could really try and get away with that one, i had my eye on you and now ur going to see what happens when u try to act cool"

So i tell him that i was accelerating under the bridge and he comes literally 4 inches towards my face and says "Yea, u were trying to act like Shit in your M3 thinking your not going to get pulled over"

so then he asks me if id had any drugs or alcohol and i said NO. Then he takes my info, and goes to his Patrol car and starts writing me up

In the middle of that he tells me to Pop my hood and then inspects my engine like he knows hes going to find some Secret Illegal After Market Tune

after that which lasted for 15 minutes, i get my ticket and they tell me that they were going to arrest me but that they had better things to do. FUCKERS

I was hit with no tags, no plates, and tint - i have like 2 of those i dont give a fuck

MY problem now is this misdemeanor " Exhibition of Speed "

just for making engine and exhaust noise under the bridge and im hit up with this

What should i do? Has anyone here gotten this, i live in Los Angeles so if anyone can help, i will be very much appreciative.

Very similar thing happened to me in my previous car, and I talked my way out of it. Someone else burned some rubber at a stoplight, and he pulled me over because I was the guy in the BMW. You need a lawyer. The chances are a lawyer can get you out of it given the subjective nature of the decision and your car sounds loud but is legal.

its sucks that they have this "Exhibition of Speed" Misdeamenor

its like they can use that when someone has done nothing legally wrong yet has personally offended that officer who then proceeds to give a Misdemeanor to that person

Amazing how i can go 95 in the 65 and get an infraction yet safely accelerate towards the speed limit on the street and get a misdemeanor

"Exhibition of Speed" is not a good one to get....

Normally I'd say use ticket assassin but with that one I say attorney...

I got one in Utah with my ridiculously tuned WRX in 2002 from a Sheriff for saying I was racing someone when infact I was the only car on the road for 6 blocks at 2AM. Anyways, fine was huge... license points were numerous (almost to the point of suspending your license) and my insurance dropped me instantly (I had a clean record at the time too)

I can imagine in Ca being the same if not worse.

that really sucks.. Ever since the remus exhaust I definitely catch the cops attention more. Ive been pulled over twice for no front plates, but I'm always super courteous to officers and ive been lucky enough to be let off both times with a "make sure to get it done"

fucking ridiculous... i hate that there are stupid laws like "exhibition of speed" ... laws like that are so vague... if you accelerate too fast, corner too fast, etc you get hit with it. and its not like there's a fixed rate of acceleration you have to adhere to... such a load of crap.

A good lawyer will point that out and force the cop to establish the basis on which he pulled him over. If it is weak, as it is in this case, the judge will toss it out.

What they count on is most people not fighting it.

I actually got pulled over 4 years ago for being young out late at night in an expensive car. I shit you not, the cop wrote that down, judge dismissed it. Lawyer helped, obviously.
