Calling it a day

I have requested my membership here to come to an end. Being banned continuously from each section even though my opinion differs not from other members has lead me to believe that the leaders here have taken things personal towards me, a definite sign of immaturity.

To everyone here I wish you all the best and hope to meet you on the Internet somewhere else where a mature discussion can continue on whether BMW are better or not than anyone else.

Regards Bob

How do you request to end a membership on a public forum when there is no membership nor any real 'ending?'

Just hang back and lurk for a while. It'll blow over and then you can post again if you currently feel uncomfortable about it.

Bucking the trend isn't necessarily an unpopular thing. Don't throw in the towel quite yet.

Anyway, it's just car talk.......

That is too bad, but I get where you are coming from. Its hard to be on this forum when there seems to be so many that just want to be confrontational instead of dicussing or adding to the posts. You have taken a lot of beatings with what many see as a pro Audi view. I think those views just add to more of what this forum needs.

Even with all the gross, perverted and just flat out poor taste items on this site, you get pounced on for speaking your mind about of all things... CARS.

People come and go here like laundry. Look how many long term members have vanished.
It just runs it's course, then you fade away.
It's a wave of "fill in your own blank here" type members. Obviously not all are spending their entire life just plugging crap onto a car forum but quite a lot do.

Go outside and go for a walk or something for crying out loud.

So as to not be the hypocrite. I spend too much time here too. More or less a habit of wizzing through here each morning with coffee.

k.

Footie,

It's true that you have taken more than your share of crap here but I appreciate your opinion and your point of view. If you truly are sick of it, good luck on your future endeavors. If you can stick it out, I'd love to see you stay. As has been said previously, people come and go around here like public toilet users. Actually, there's a lot of analogies there

This is just an observation but I generally find that when people feel the need to publicly announce to a forum that they are "ending their membership"..., said person is way too caught up in that forum. It's just the internet, doesn't really matter in 'real life'.

I can relate. I'm still banned from the Gen BMW section and my posts and/or those of people who quote and agree with me are deleted when I'm not on my knees for BMW (which I'm anything but nowadays). I think I'm outta here too. OT is getting boring and that's why I stuck around, that and the Gen Automotive section (I'd log in, check gen auto, check OT, check gen auto again, then picture threads, then log out). My next car will be a C63 coupe so I won't need to be here anyway.

Although your consistent Audi threads/posts sometimes bordered on trolling, you did present interesting insight that's against the grain over here. See ya around.

I have always found the regime on here to be suspect as well. Their rulings and behavior aren't always sound. Hence why I am now "2".
Sorry to hear you've had the same experience.

I leave for Australia and shit goes down. Am I missing something? Even though I find myself disagreeing with Foot more often than not, he's at least highly knowledgable and opinionated without being ignorant; a necessary combo to keep this forum interesting.

Unfortunately, myself and most of the other members that provided the core of this section's material have all but completely moved on. I'm 1) too lazy to make new breads all the time, and 2) vie got other shit to do.

Foot, Im sure that if you give the place a break and lurk a little you'll find yourself contributing once again. I've taken plenty of tea breaks from this site but I'm ultimately still contributing in the long run.

^^^

+1 I used to post in this section all the time but I'm lazy and very busy now lol. Anyway, sorry to see you leave Footie. You brought a lot to our discussions and where would we be if we all had the exact same thoughts and opinions? Good luck for the future mate.

Also, why are people always getting banned? I've seen a lot of people complaining about this now.
