M3 crash

I was on a track day with professional drivers as instructors a month ago and I had done at least 30 laps without any issues, all braking points where set. I took a short brake and picked up a passenger and after a warm up lap I hit the gas. In the end of the straight ( doing 205km/h gps) I smashed the brake pedal at the braking point and to my big surprise the pedal just hit the floor.
After being airborne for 20 meters I was able to drift the car in a short turn to the right over the sand trap and was able to get up on the asphalt again, but in a 4 wheel drift, I hit the concrete barrier on the right side in a right turn doing app 130-140 km/h, bounced out and slides across the track for 60 meters.
If I had failed to make the right turn I would have hit a barrier in almost 200 km/h and that would probably been the end of the story..

So what happened, I had a very tight fit between the brake caliper and the inside of the wheel ,and something must have been stuck between the caliper and the wheel which caused a hole in the caliper and the brake fluid just flushed out, never heard of something similar before.
Be careful out there….shit happens

pretty bad hit, almost looks like the right hinge pillar is pushed back. Be glad you're ok as that must've been some impact

Sorry to hear for your misfortune. After reading through the post, I have to admit I was a bit relieved when I noticed you had aftermarket brakes and wheels. I hope that doesn't sound insensitive.

Hope you get her fixed up or replaced without issue.

Sorry to hear about your accident and misfortune. The most important thing is that you and the passenger are here to today able to still be with your family and friends.

You have a blistering fast and well setup E92 M3! Hopefully you can either piece it back together or start on a new canvas.

Keep us all posted!

How old is your brake fluid?

Mine behaves similar after GP track action. After standstill the brake pedal is very soft and almost falls down. It is due to the old brake liquid, at least in my case.

Sorry to hear about your accident.
You should have bought some Brembo or AP racing.

At least you are ok.

Jeeesssuuuuzzzz, glad everyone is OK. Credit to the driving skills too! Shit does happen out there is completely true. At my last track event I watched a guy put his new McLaren through a wall.

Be Safe!

First of all glad you're safe. Second question is how is this explained to insurance? What do they cover if at all?

Sorry to hear this. Glad everyone is ok. I had a near miss on track when front pads gave out. Now I have track insurance. Did you have track insurance or will your auto insurance cover damages on track?
