A race car as heavy as ours will be is going to need great brakes. How about StopTech GT 4 piston (per our class rules) calipers on all 4 corners

What to those rotors weigh? Do the class rules forbid the use of a two piece rotor?

Two piece rotors are allowed in Prepared class (but not 6 piston)

We'll be contacting Hawk about pads.

Almost. We have the Trophy Kit. This is the GT4. It looks very similar but it's not quite the same.

Actually, I'd love to know what differs.

Ralph has been doing some exhaust and suspension install/fitting. I'll see if he has taken some pics of his latest work.

Here's from just doing a test fit of the brakes inside the APEX 10.5" wheels

WOW the 275/35/18 on a 10.5 mounts fine in the front!!! Now that is a badass square setup! Are those the standard ET?

10.5" seems a bit wide for 275 tires. Any reason you decided to use 10.5" rims instead of 9.5" or 10"? Or larger rubber with 10.5" rims?

Thanks

That may have a small or no spacer. Wheel offset is 27 mm

We like to do square setups when possible. The 305 tires aren't available yet, but the 10.5 wheels gave us the most flexibility.

When we scraped out all the sound deadening material from the tub (does not include the doors), it pretty much filled a small plastic grocery bag and weighed about 7 lbs.

The real PITA before the car went off to the cage/paint shop was the surprise we got when we pulled the headliner. There was this fiberglass type sound deadening/insulation that was glued to the underside of the roof. Yep, I had to take adhesive remover and get all the mess off the inside of the roof.

wow. that doesn't sound much. 7lbs for sound deadener isn't that bad.
any idea how much the roof sound deadening/insulation weighted?

Remember, that was not including the sound deadening in the doors. I think a lot of the weight these days is in the carpet foam. I've seen Porsche race cars leave the sound deadening in and paint over it.

That roof insulation was really light. Think of fiberglass insulation and it was probably only about .5" thick. The only reason it was glued was probably to hold it up there in the assembly process until the headliner goes in.

nice taste in exhaust. I'm struggling to see what's going on with the livery, but that's quite subjective and well it looks like a great build so far!
