e92 Trunk Space

Are there any e92 cyclists out there? I currently have the e93 and am debating on trading for the e92 for a few reasons, but one of the most important is trunk space. I cycle quite and bit and I cannot fit my bike in the e93. Will a 56cm road bike fit in the trunk of the e92 with the rear seats folded down? I think it will be close...

If you remove the front rim, yes. But, it's worth getting a good bike rack.

I'd get a separate car to haul your stuff if that's at all possible.

Thanks for the replies. I would like to just have one car. As of now, I am debating between the following:

e92 M3
Audi S/RS5 (owned S5 before M3 and liked it)
Maserati Ghibli

Anyone know anything about the Ghibli? I would more than likely get it CPOd, so not real concerned about shit breaking or the horrible depreciation as I would pick one up for around $50k +/-

Well if you want out of your e93 and you're looking for an excuse then of course pick a car that can perhaps carry more cargo but I would strongly suggest you simply get a decent bike rack for the back of your car and call it a day. I have an e92M3 and I tried to carry my 56cm road bike in it once. It was a pain in the ass but it fit with the front wheel off. That was the last time I tried. The other alternative vehicle is an X5M, which is a very bad ass SUV that will beat your e93M3 on the street and actually on the track as well. The cars you mention on your list would really need a bike rack too BTW.

Unless you always have something in your backseat, I think it is easier to load the bike into the backseat with the top down (front tire off). There are those travel type cases that will even fit I believe. If you are going for an e92, is using a roof rack not an option?

My 53cm Pinarello F8 fits if I take the front wheel off and get the handle bars just right.

my e90 has the little removable pieces to install the bmw roof rack. the e92 have those with the carbon fiber roof? trunk space is reserved for the hooker storage.

This is correct. I haul my Felt F2 61cm road bike all the time. Takes 2 minutes.

1. Pop down rear seats.
2. Skewer quick release to drop front wheel off bike.
3. Insert bike rear wheel first (towards front seats) and handle bars just right right (towards rear of car).
4. Stuff front wheel in the trunk.

I love the Thule flat bike rack that mounts to a tow hitch, but hate all other racks. I wouldn't mess with a bike rack on the M3 unless absolutely necessary. Stupid things are more of a pain and worry about messing up the car than the functionality they provide.

Great, thanks guys/gals this helps a lot!

I've always transported my bikes in the car as I like it better. It keeps my bike cleaner. Also, if I had a roof rack, I would be afraid i would forget it was up there and run into the top of my garage. lol. That would be an expensive mistake.

Well, I've heard plenty of people comfortably getting their Filipino hookers in the trunk...so you should be fine with your bike

Word on the street is they are, not 100% sure myself yet. But I actually just got to Korea for work, so in a day or two I can let you and op know how a Korean hooker compares... I'll measure and let you know exactly how I get her head hidden and that'll give some kind of indication maybe how to store the front wheel
