haha, I know right!

Im running the stock motor for now, but I've already sunk so much money in it I might as well swap the motor to a brushless motor.

Its pretty damn quick now, so I want to learn how to drive it properly and then Im going to swap the motor. Apparently the stock motor runs 35-40 km/h... Im told that with a good brushless motor for about $150 bucks, it will run 80-90km/h.

I'm curious if you're going to install some H&R's, an Eisenmann Race, and maybe a new set of 360's?

That's crazy - I think I might have to pick one of these up - wonder if that body will fit on a gas one!

Looks great, I am surprised by how fast these R/C can go. I am thinking of ordering one for myself, what are some of the learnings on the finishing the body portion.

Well, its not quite put together yet but I have run it both inside my house and on my street on a dry day this weekend. I was going to wait for better weather but I figured what better way to spend some time during the days on the weekend and evenings on the weekdays then to build a little hobby car. I was hoping it would take a few weeks, maybe months even. But I ended up finishing the car itself in 3 days (not including the body). All I can say is that it is really addicting because you cant wait to see it finished, and then I got bored of finishing it so quick so I went out and bought all those hop up parts for it.

Just take your time with it, tape it off properly and use a dremmel or something can will cut a perfect circle for the wheel wells.

Nice! I got one with the RS4 Audi body. Might have to order the M3 body from Tamiya.

I'm curous why all the mods? IIRC you said you're just getting in to R/C. If you are you're GOING to be breaking bodies and supsension parts, particularly control arms. Might have been better to save the money for new bodies, bumpers, etc. and add the upgrades later.

Don't get me wrong, the shiny blue parts are the secks, but speaking from experience the mods are not a big deal yet and are easily swapped later.

I think I went through 3 bodies before I really got the hang of on-road driving. I came from buggies which is a very, very different style of driving.

You can definitely get cars that are stupid fast. Traxxas has a RTR kit that did 50MPH out of the box and the newer version is even faster.

Well as I mentioned in my original post the only mods I did at first were what the hobby shop recommended to do as I was building the car because they were part of the core build up. However, upon finishing the car itself I got bored and I kind of wanted to do it all over again, so I bought those mods so I can have an excuse to take some of it apart and re build it again. The other reason I did the mods was because it looks cool and I know eventually I will need them when I swap the motor, so figured why not do it now? They're relatively cheap, however it does add up as I have spent about $500 canadian dollars so far (but that includes the battery, the charger and the remote control itself).

500 CDN isn't too bad at all considering you bought all the electronics as well. I'd have popped extra for something like a Lynx 3D controller but every time I get back into R/C I end with 4 or 5 cars and not having a bunch of radios around is nice.

I feel you on the rebuild stuff. Sometimes I think the building is better thanthe driving.

$ 500 is cheap !!!
i paid something like $ 500 for my RC truck itself, and probably dumped another $ 500-600 in it to fix everything i broke while doing big jumps and powerslides into concrete curbs
thta's 1 reason why i havent gotten into on-road yet... much faster, much harder to control = way too expensive for me !!! looks great though, congratz!
