Launch control horror?

So this is kind of a blur. Was my 3rd time using launch control and for some reason, idk if i did something wrong this time, it bounced off the limiter and after going into 3rd gear I knew it wasnt right and braked. I got some error message but pressed ok before fully reading it. It said something about transmission and letting my engine cool down, put the car in (p) and if anything, to take it to a dealership. Idk if i should freak out cause after that i turned the car off, waited 1 min, turned on and everything was fine. I went home and im here now googling my ass off to try and find what exact error message i got. Any inputs?
I learned my lesson, rather just mash on 1st gear than use LC

LC is cool.

Once. Don't do that to your car.

I've learned my lesson... I just want to know if anyone has ever gotten this message. I'll check the car out tomorrow in the morning

Yes, LC is perfect to M3, but you need to protect your 7DCT by correctly handled according to the instruction.

Thanks! So in step 4 you hold the shifter forward, then mash the gas and when you release you will take off just sit back and not have to shift?

yep - leave pedal all the way down, and it will upshift at redline - if you let off, LC will disengage.

OP, could it be possible that you lifted the throttle at some point? Once you lift, even very slightly, launch mode disengages and you have to shift for yourself. If you keep the engine against the limiter for too long, the ECU will reduce the red line and send an error message.

I am not sure that the car carries great affection for being launched.

As I said, because you bounced off the limiter for too long, has already hapened to me (I am only speculating here...). The error message goes away and the redline goes back to normal after a few seconds.

+1. I always laugh at silly launch control posts. Its like knowing the special button sequence for secret moves on video games.

Have never used it and probably never will. The idea is tempting now that I have 295 ado8s though.

That could be it... So I shouldn't worry right?

I've used it once... I hate it. The engagement is too high(revs). Besides I don't see the point to launching really... too much abuse on the drive train.
