I installed mine today on my 11 E92 and it was bit of a PITA! We had to lower the exhaust because my tips were welded on. It wasn't as easy as you think!!

Welded on?! The inner tube is welded, but not the tips - they are riveted. Do you have pictures by chance? I also have a '11 e92.

I will take a pic and post tomorrow. I know they have rivets but it seemed that they were welded on there because they were a PITA to take off! LOL

I finally installed mine last night and they look great!! The taking the rivets out are a PITA for sure!! If you're using BMW rivets to install the new tips be warned...they are strong as FUK! You gotta squeeze that rivet gun hard as hell!

I put mine on today. Well my dealer put them on for 100 bucks. I did not own the equipment so had to spend more money and time to do it myself than pay for dealer to just slap them on. They look GREAT. Better than any aftermarket tips so if you are happy with the OEM sound but just wanted a different look, these are super. I have had them sitting around for awhile. Goes nicely with the black-chrome grille, nice tint and a plain black liscense frame holder with black screw covers

Currently on special @ $88.00 per tip here on our site. These were much cheaper a year or so ago, but BMW increased dealer cost/MSRP so we had to adjust our online pricing accordingly.

These are so good looking. Problem is that I love the oem tips so much and how they stand out. And my car is JZB so I feel like the tips would just disappear. Too bad these can't be retrofitted onto an akra exhaust. I'd be sold.

That seems like a good way to ease the eyesore. What kind of paint (primer first?) did you use, and how is it holding up to the heat?
