Installation! BMW CF Performance spoiler (top painted AW courtesy of IND)

Hey all!

Just got my CF spoiler from IND today in the mail! Here are some teaser pics to how it looks before the installation. Unfortunately I got off work way too late today and don't have the time to get what I need to install it today, but I will be installing it tomorrow afternoon hopefully and will update this thread with pics both during and after the install! And yes, I am sitting it on top of my empty fish tank :P

Finally got around to installing this while the weather wasn't bad!

With the aid of some fishing line and the 3M adhesive remover spray, I was able to get all of the gunk off from the old lip!

Old lip:

Getting the adhesive off:

All done and clean:

New spoiler on!

Thanks again to Nate@IND for making this happen! Just got the notification that my VRS Type II diffuser is on the way, and I'm excited!

So how exactly did you get the old spoiler off? I just got my OEM Performance Spoiler in the mail and I have no idea how to get the old one off without hurting the finish. Anyone have advice or a DIY link?

Update.

Forget it I found a DIY link in the DIY section. Cheers, and by the way your car looks great.

I thought it was gonna be a tough time but it wasn't that bad. I have a little blister on my thumb from rubbing the leftover adhesive, but other than that it was pretty easy.

Would have been easier with a heat gun but not required. Besides I was worried I'd mess up the paint with the heat gun, lol. The 3M adhesive remover did no damage to any of the paint, but they said it will remove the wax so I just put a quick coat of wax back on once the spoiler was on. No biggie Took me an hour to do.

Thanks. I was worried about the heat gun too but I'll do it just like you did.

I'll be busy this weekend

Looks so good!!!! Really like the paint job by IND

newb question, but does the 3M adhesive remover take care of betalink adhesive? I really want the performance spoiler but am cautious of the betalink holding on the oem spoiler.

The OEM lip that comes with the car is usually held on by 3M tape. Mine was, and I think most people's were.

If you want to get betalink for the new spoiler, it comes with a solution I think to get rid of any extra you have.
