E90 vs. 911 turbo
So I'm on the highway and he pulls up along side of me, gives me the look and were off. He downshifted I downshifted and it was as if I was standing still lol. He put my meaningless existence into perspective. None the less still fun. Its funny in my evo x, cars like sti, built civics, and other bs mess with you. But in this car its a whole different class of cars that ef with you. I love it!

The 911 turbo obviously is a real beast. I would've been in disbelief if you said you "hung around" with him for a stretch. It's funny, I don't get many challengers. The ones I get are so laughable that it doesn't even matter anyway.

hmm... turbo's are verrry fast, and very mod friendly.
I have to notice, I'm stationed in Germany, and I am yet to be raced in my M3... No one tries anything, but in my E36 325 I get raced all the time. |

Hah! My car got checked out like crazy by a guy in a 996 turbo yesterday, I didn't want to get put in my place so I gave him a thumbs up as I came to my turn and went on my way.
I hardly get challenged in the ///M though. Once by a turbo'd accord, a playful pace with an E93 and GT-R, but nothing like the Evo X days, ugh, one of the reasons I got rid of the damn car. DICK MAGNET! EDIT: Another plus, I get a lot of (respectable) props in this car... Apparently I love the attention. |

The M3 gets attention too but different. Not all are appreciative. Lots of haters and people who think you're a spoiled dick because you're in an M3. |

Thats why I asked, I raced two stock 996 turbo from a roll 70mph up and had the advantage on them from those speeds (this was before my cat delete and flash), from a dig the 996 is faster. 997 turbo from a roll or dig the M3 will lose, modded 996/997 turbo forget about it. have not had the oppertunity to run one after my cat delete and tune, one of the 996 owner could not beleive he got beat and started modding shortly after the run; so far he has a Fabspeed exhaust with hiflo cats and K/N filter, I drove the car after the bolt-on and there is very noticable difference in power, he's planning on doing a flash next. I guess I gave him that extra push

modded or not, 997tt will kill m3.
I have very hard time believing you beat a 996tt (just look up 60-120mph times for both cars, and it's clear)... forget about it if it's modded, it will just rape anything on the road... very, very mod friendly. I was looking at getting one, and there was this tuner that offered to redo the turbo's ($3k) plus a chip, CAI and exhaust puts you over 600hp and insane torque. |

I rarely get people trying to race me in the M3. Most of the time its just an enthusiast giving a thumbs up. But in my Evo IX ha... Its insane. I avoid it most of the time I dont care how hard these kids try to get me to go.
Anyways, my cousin has a 997 turbo. They are stupid fast. The first time I drove it I honestly didn't know how any car could ever keep up with it. Id love to have a turbo S someday soon.

Maybe it's just SoCal, but here every two-bit ricer in their modded Honda Civic wants to try to race on the freeway when they spot a newer M3, which I have absolutely zero interest in doing.

sorry, can't back up my statements about 60-130, I saw some info a while back, but can't pull up legit number. If memory serves me correct, 996t does 60-130mph in about 10.4, and bmw m6 does it in 10.3(M3? not sure, didn't look, but i think over 11). I have yet to see a bolt on m3 take out stock m6 on a roll.
I'm with you buddy, and really wish my car was faster than what it is (and it feels like a very fast car), but reallity of it is that a 10-11 year old porsche will kick our ass. My car also has HFC, xpipe tune, afe scoops, filter... but those things don't add that much power. Some days I wish I went with Z06 instead.... but the reality of it is, there is always a faster car! I come from 09 STI (and before mazdaspeed3), with over 400hp, and back then I was in one class of cars, now i'm in another class of cars... you get a z06, you will be in another class of cars, so on and so forth. M3 is in a weird class, cause a bolt on evo will take it, and cars in the same class can prob take it (mod for mod), but where M3 shines is on the track! It is not a straight line car, so it's pointless to race someone.... fast cars are faster, and slow cars, well, you can only be so proud about beating a civic. let's list bolt-on cars that can beat bolt-on m3, who are a class lower or in the same class: *bolt on: exhaust, intake, tune.... C63 5.0 camaro SS C6ls2/ls3 (will beat it stock) SRT8 EVO STI WRX GTO RS4 135i ... I'm sure there's plenty to add. However, I will beat all those cars around the track (well, LS3 C6 maybe hard). |
