What car do you most regret getting rid of?

We all have that car where we sold it, and instantly regretted it.

Mine was my first car - a 1989 Dodge Daytona Shelby. I know I know, it's a K car, but with the 2.2 Turbo II and Mopar Performance computer, that thing was a blast to drive. It would easily hang with Mustangs and Camaros of it's time, and it got the best fuel economy of any car I have ever owned with a record 42 MPG highway (a record for me anyway!)

It also handled pretty well, with massive sway bars. I took a cloverleaf on-ramp at 100 km/h and it just stuck (they are rated at 40 km/h). I also was young and stupid and drove it at 240 km/h once (150 MPH).

I sold it to some jack-ass who trashed it right away too which also made me sad.

I actually saw it come up on a used car website a couple of years ago but the Mrs wouldn't let me buy it back.

I really loved that car and the biggest mistake was I bought a 1995 Dodge Neon Sport to replace it with. That thing was a POS. Way less power, way noisier, and worse fuel economy.

Now of course I do love my 335 too. It will be another hard car to get rid of when it's day comes.

I regret selling my 2003 Honda S2000. Bought it with 3,400 miles, traded in with 45k. Never had a single problem and that car saw 9k RPM daily. Such a great car.

May last two.

2010 135i M Sport - I'm completely comvinced that this car is the 2002 of the future. I love it so much but with a baby on the way, it just didn't make sense.

2008.5 VW GTI - it was so inexpensive and fun to drive that I should have just kept it but we ran out of space.

I've never driven an S2000 but it would be cool to hear that little motor wound up to 9k.

I don't have a story of my own, but my dad got rid of his 1972 Chev El Camino SS when I was little and the guy totalled it about 8 hours after picking it up...

My Acura RSX Type S. Best Car. Practical. Fun. Great MPG. Super Reliable.

I had Supercharger and Nitrous and it was still reliable for 50,000 more miles before I sold it.

Wish I kept it as a beater. I can't find a clean one to save my life nowadays.

As far as the S2k comments, another great car.

My E30. I bought it with mint interior and literally no front end or doors and made it look clean with junkyard body parts that luckily were the same color. Slammed it on BC coilovers and E38 mesh wheels and it got sideways on a regular basis and somehow the oil pan didn't break after scraping it on speedbumps twice a day.

Wow what an eerily similar story to my own dad! He had a 1968 Plymouth Satellite that he sold to his younger brother, who rolled it and totaled it that day. It obviously bothered him a lot since it happened years before I was born and he talked about it several times.

They were a sexy car!

2004 Electric Blue SRT-4. She actually committed suicide. I don't think she could handle the way I rode her. She spontaneously combusted. I think that is why I miss her the most, because I had no control over when she left my life.

1997 Acura Integra. Metallic red with grey interior. First new car I bought for my wife. She wasn't very kind to it cosmetically, but mechanically that car was bullet proof.

Probably my S2000... but here's the kicker... I haven't sold her *yet* ... Just trying to determine if I ought to, and snap up my buddy's E90 M3...
07MY S2000, bought new, only 27K on the clock. Deep blue (Laguna Blue Pearl for those who care)... should I or shouldn't I... losing sleep...

2001 Honda S2000. I drove that car like I stole it and redlined it at least 4 times every day. I sold it with 70k miles and it never had any problems. The car had a perfect balance of HP and toss-ability. I get sad every time I see one on the road. Its going to be very hard to duplicate the fun of that car without spending a lot of money.

My second car, which was a '91 Eagle Talon TSI. It was super clean, and you just can't find ones like that anymore. The car was a blast and very quick stock. With minor mods these things can be beasts. Would have been a fun project car.

Someone should make a thread titled "what car do you most regret purchasing?"! That would be interesting.

My E30 as well. Would be a great DD so I wouldn't have to use my M every day. Got a little choked up when the buyer drove her away.

1994 Porsche RS America. Terrific car and only sold because of health reasons that eventually cleared up but at the time everyone thought the nerve damage was permanent. Would love to have it back!!

The original Eagle Talon TSI was such a great car! I never liked what they did to them in the remake. Turned them into a giant egg.

Oddly enough my base model 97 Nissan Frontier. She had 274k miles on her and she still ran like a champ. I had nowhere to park it otherwise I'd still be driving it every day.
