Gilmore foamaster 2...really??
Realistically, how good is this? Does it really produce a decent amount of foam? I've seen vids and pictures of the foam on the car with this gun but it doesn't seem like much. It doesn't look thick like the pressure washer ones. Foam looks thin and just slides right off the car. Is this even worth it? Or does the thick foam depend on the brand of soap suds?
Please chime in with your experiences. Thx |

Foam depends somewhat on the soap used but in my experience, you will not get the same foam thickness as with a foam cannon attached to a pressure washer. I still use it most times I wash even though the thick, sticky foam is marginal by comparison.

It is not like the foam cannons with a good pressure washer.
But it is most likely better than just hosing down the car before washing. If the goal is to loosen dirt before putting a sponge on the car for a normal 2 bucket wash, then the Gilmour does the job as a prep step. I have used CG Citrus Wash & Gloss and got reasonable foam. Just got CG Maxi Suds II to try since it also is more forgiving as far as LSP or wax removal and seems to foam well in the Gilmour. I think your water pressure at your house will also determine how much foam you get, but it is not going to be like those ones that look a blizzard fell on the car. With the pricing on Amazon, FM II is a good buy and will probably be used enough to justify its price. Since a good wash still requires a bucket wash, I think the Gilmour's savings over a pressure washer and foam gun can make sense.
