yeah that makes sense, but i'm thinking more about resale value of a 2009 vs a 2008 will be more. i don't expect there will much, if any upgrade to the car though.

worry about resale value when its time to resell, who's to say that you won't fall even more head over heals for this car and maybe never want to sell it or when you finally get it you kick yourself in the arse b/c you waited so long to be able to enjoy it. My advice is get it now and worry later as far as years go, if I recall correctly in September you will have the 2009 and remember that they take the month of August off so you might have an even longer wait if you don't get your order in at the correct time....don't wait get it now!!

not to bring up an unrelated point but the difference between the 2004 sti (first model year in us) and the 2005 was huge, totally changed suspension, interior changes...

I doubt BMW will do this, they havent in the past as far as I know.

Im in no mater what for a 2008, ive paid the deposit and waiting for the car. I want it now!

I ordered the 19" Wheels, extended leather, and MDCT of course.
My CA told me the production will be move to the week 19.
And I haven't get any call about move up to week 24.
Should I call my CA?

Im actually avoiding the call, Its only the beginning of april so Im trying not to worry about it right now. Just knowing that bad news might push me towards a gtr so Im gonna just keep my hand off the phone and wait it out. Once week 19 gets here I'll call.

One of my frd told me nissan dealership only have 1 GTR allocation per year. dunno its true or not.

Car went status 112 today, but still has an estimated date of week 24. Kind of weird to be at 112 for 2 months.

Mine went 112 about 3 weeks from the original production date; then I was delayed 6 weeks (and back to Status 111). I would suspect if you are Status 112, production will be soon.

Congrats. You can check status with the 1-800 automatically as well. Mine, so far, has been about 1-2 days behind actual.

Just call 1800 today and talked with a rep. He said my production is still week 19 not change. I order the extend leather 19" wheel and M-DCT.
I guess not everyone got put back to week 24.

I was scheduled for 4/17 production (week 16) and now have been pushed back to week 24.

MDCT, Extended Leather + 19s

Hugely irritating because originally my dealer sold me a car that was scheduled to arrive in the middle of april only to find out 3 days later that it was already earmarked for the dealer's wife. This would have been my 4th new BMW and I had similar production nightmares waiting for my e70 X5 around the launch last year. It just doesn't seem like BMW really cares much about customer communication or loyalty around new product launches.

Since that would delay delivery until late in the summer I'm thinking I will cancel and wait to see what happens with 09s and Porsche's rumored DCT for the 997.
