video: zoomin around lil talledega in the M

lil tally turned out to be a pretty fun track... a little harsh on tires but all in all fun and had a nice flow..

This was at a Z and GTR nationals meet... one session i passed about 4 or 5 new GTRs but my cam went dead while sitting in the pits ready to go out.. that woulda been fun for trash talking..

I also stuck some petit lemans action in there...

What sizes are you running in the PSC's?I am trying a 275 RA1 square setup on Friday and I am pretty sure that this setup might be loose for an aggressive style.

Nice video and good smoke job on the modded Z car

Nice vid kingleh. I did embed it for you in your post. In case you aren't aware of the formatting, just wrap the embed link in "U2B" and "/U2B" pointers (in brackets).

Great vid! I like how you matched your helmet to your interior or vice versa (kidding - i assume that is pure coincedence!)

Nice video. you were pushing the car pretty hard, with lots of corrections required and good car control demonstrated.

I think you've got a lot more speed in you if you'd get more precise with your apexes. Several times you dive in a little early and then take to the rumble strips. If you hold to the outside, apex slightly later AND go across the strips I think you'll get even faster. You clearly have good car control at the limit, so adding a bit more precision is going to make you faster quickly.

Dave

And how are you doing in Grand-Am this year Dave?

Its very easy to be precise if your not at the limit!

Hah, that explains the car control.

I was thinking, "That rider sure is calm, this doesn't seem like the normal driver/'instructor' scenario."

You know, I tried to test for FarnbacherLoles saying I was pretty damn precise (just not anywhere remotely close to at the limit), and they never got back to me!

Yea... i don't think a square setup is ideal for our cars...

i am running 265-35 295-30..... Its not the perfect setup.. but there isn't one right now really... You can see the loose nature of the car... but it still has some pretty good rear grip... 295-35 would be more ideal...

I had pretty good balance first couple of laps... then the rear would get hot and i would go to a slight oversteer.. still alot of fun to drive but you lose a little lap time...

i thought i was pretty dang precise.... sometimes clipping cones without knocking them over...

The turns at this track are a little different then the norm.. some have many different lines... and you just have to drive around the car instead of the track... Sometimes you will waist time trying to drive what you think would be the 'perfect line'....

Also... If you been at the track you would know what im saying...

Flow > Line

That is my issue also with the 888's which is part of the reason that I am trying the RA1's this time.I tried test fitting a 300/660 18 Dunlop slick on the back and I think it would have fit with a 10 mm spacer on my 30p wheels.A 285/650 fits on the front on a 25p wheel. There are lots of these available with only a couple of heat cycles on them, but I am not sure how well they would work on soft suspended ,non optimized alignment M3.

Yea... that would be pretty nice slick setup... My problem is i need something i can drive to the track on and drive home.... Because i hate changing tires at the track and loading the car full of hot nasty dirty rubber....

There is a setup i was working with CCW on but right when i was about to go down there to get custom fitted John flaked on me...

So someone try it... I prob will next time... I think its possible with the perfect offsets...

NITTO 555 R2

285-35 and 305-35

I think my rear offset is to aggressive for it to work tho... i need a 28 or a 30... i have a 25...

Also.. ive heard nothing but bad things about the 888

I agree with your observation although we can't see it all in the video. It seemed like you came awfully close to several cones without knocking them over, and that's no accident but car placement.

285/35 un front. I would think that you would get some rubbing at full lock, but as long as the steering inputs are not extreme, it should clear. Stiffer suspension with camber should also help. I saw the Turner car run 275s up front without problems at NHMS.

There are a few E9X M's running around up here with 275/35-18 on 18x10's@25P and they seem to not have any clearance issues.I am thinking a 18x11 on the rear at 15P with a 295 or 305 would work and allow the rear end to stay planted better. At least I have the winter to figure this out!

Mine at 30P are too much to the inside so less postive offset is what I want(I think?)

KW V3s....

I tuned them a little but didn't see much return.... But they were just about perfect for my setup as far as the springs rates and general dampening goes... Had a great feel... Im pretty happy with them...

But like i said.. 2 or 3 clicks would barely change anything...
