As much as I hate when people tell me to do this, please use the function.
ESS, Gintani and AA all have S/C systems.
ESS has a "budget" kit for $8495 that yields around 450rwhp and 320rwtq. VT-1 535 kit.

www.esstuning.com
www.gintani.com
www.activeautowerke.com

I have heard great things about all 3 companies but have not yet taken the s/c plunge.
The majority of members here run the ESS kit due to ease of installation, price and upgradability.

You can find dynos on all the websites above.

Turbos are superchargers - they just work differently.
Both will change your exhaust note varying on how much boost you are running. More air is sent to your engine (accompanied by more fuel from larger injectors and a software tune) yields a louder exhaust note.

Not necessarily the case. Many turbo cars are actually quieter as a portion of the energy from the exhaust goes into turning the turbine

read what he said again. I'm not arguing that a S/C might increase engine/exhaust noise, but saying that turbochargers are superchargers that just work differently is a gross oversimplification. especially when you consider how profound of an effect turbochargers have on exhaust noise. so, no, he's not "completely correct."

Static test has nothing to do with Supercharger. It cant make more noise when you are holding a gas pedal steady at the 3/4 of the maximum RPM. You might as well not have a supercharger, because you are not producing boost.

A turbo on the other hand, acts directly as a resonator or a muffler that quiets down the tone of gases as they exit engine cylinder.

To play devil's advocate, I'm going to simplify it even further:

Superchargers and turbos are both essentially just air compressors; the only difference is HOW they get the turbines to spin.

Since you're located in L.A., I say check out Gintani over in Van Nuys and look at what they have and talk to the owner.

OP, you live in an area where Superchargers are plentiful. Search, the Forum, talk to the Owners. That's what I did.

Like You, I wanted one but had a budget. I made my choice and couldn't be happier. Best Bang for the buck! Completely changed the personality of the car.

Good Luck!
