problem with computer... showing high mpg

Hey guys my 2008 e92 (65k miles) is showing super high mpg on the computer. It's strange because everything else works, such as the ODO, range, etc. One morning it said 99.9 mpg and since then has gradually decreased but is now hovering around 40 mpg. I've asked my mechanic to reset the computer but no luck. He's just scratching his head. Anyone else have this problem?

did you try resetting it? hold down the button when you're on the mpg display screen (as you would to check your oil level).

press the right pedal down more, it will go down.... All kidding aside I would try to re-set it and see what happens.
