Blizzak LM-60 size help with TE37SL's

Hey guys,
I need some tire size help. I'm going to buy some Blizzak LM-60's for my TE37SL's for the winter time and I'm having trouble with sizes.

My wheel specs are:
18x9.5 et15 front
18x10.5 et20 rear

My summer setup is:
255/35/18 Hankook R-S3's
285/35/18 Hankook R-S3's

For the winter, Bridgestone doesn't have those exact sizes, so I was thinking:
  1. EDIT- I'm going with 255/40/18 fronts and 275/35/18 rears

Any other size recommendations? Or other tire brands with better sizes?

Thanks,
Matt

If possible you want to try and minimize the width of a winter tire, compared to a summer tire.

Given your wheel widths and offsets I'd probably try #2 - 255/40 and 265/35. The 255/40-18 is very close in diameter to the stock 245/40-18 - 26.0" vs. 25.7".

Option #3 would work ok but I'm wondering if the 245 would be too stretched on a 9.5" wide wheel?

The only thing is that I don't want the tires looking really stretched. I liked the beefy tire look. Which is the reason I'm leaning toward that Pirelli setup. I'm willing to sacrifice a little snow performance for a beefier look.

Also, the difference between a 265/40 (oem spec 18") and 265/35 is an inch in diameter. Which is kind of big.

What do you think?

EDIT: I just found out that Pirelli has a tire called Winter 240 Sottozero Serie II and they have them in - 255/40/18 front and 295/35/18 rear

The fronts come within 0.29 inches of OEM spec tires and the rears come within 0.22 inches of OEM spec. Those are the closest to OEM spec I have seen yet.

Would those be best?

Why not use a 275/35 instead on the rear? Is it not in stock?

I would not recommend running a 295 mm rear winter tire - that just sounds too wide for a rear winter tire, especially when the stock width is only 265. I'd be afraid of the rear losing traction much more quickly in snow than the front which would make turning and even straight line driving dangerous - the tire won't be able to "push" the snow out of the way.

I completely didn't see that option on tirerack! Yea I think I'll just go 255/40/18 front and 275/35/18 rear. Thanks Donnie! I knew bridgestone had to have a matching set that worked for me.
