I know this is probably a common problem with people running larger/wider wheel/tire fitments. How do you take care of the problem of the rear tires rubbing on the rear fender liner?

The tire is hitting the fender liner where the rear bumper and the rear quarter panel meet. The fender liner sticks out to cover the ledge/bolt that holds the bumper corner to the quarter panel. I can imagine shaving the fender liner will get rid of some rubbing but will the tire then contact the ledge/bolt behind the liner?

Here is a pic for reference. This is not my car but it is the same problem.

You can dremel the spot you describe but that may not be your actual rub point. Aggressive wheels / tires rub at the metal fender around 4 or 5 o'clock if you are facing the passenger side of the car. You can also add negative camber to help the situation. There is no easy fix for metal the fender rub.

The wheel and tire fully fits under the fender when compressed. It just hits the fender liner where I described. I don't think the tire hitting the fender is a problem in my case. I am mainly worried about that bolt. If I trim the fender liner and it hits the bolt that'll really screw up the tire.

You might be surprised... Place some blue painters tape in both areas and take the car for a drive to confirm. I went through the same process and learned that it was hitting the fender (in the front towards the door).
