Suspension thoughts??
I was thinking KW Clubsports to replace my stock suspension to go w/ my 18x10 et 25 w 275/35/18 Starspec Direzzas. Thoughts ? My brother is suggesting anze but I think that's overboard for autox.

A good alternative would be JRZ RS1 or the new Ohlins R&T due to release later this month. The above two will not be an overkill and will yield ride quality that is better than stock with the right spring rates.

I went with TC Kline double adjustable coilovers. will be testing em out this weekend at Meadowlands for NNJR SCCA. let's see how I do.
as far as my experience so far, I am very happy with the customer service at TC Kline. they're very helpful and i know that they aren't just trying to sell me parts just to sell me parts. |

We've heard nothing but great things about JRZs. In fact, our e36 M3 dedicated track car is equipped with the JRZ RS and we love them!

The Ohlins R&T product for the M3 should be as good as the JRZ RS1 - Inverted front struts, dual flow valve technology and will come ready to bolt-on.

I love my clubsports. FYI your wheels won't fit without spacers (5mm minimum). You lose some inner clearance when installing kw coilovers (the coilover springs extend lower on the shock than OEM springs). It may not be an issue with other coilover kits.

Is this a fact? If you are lowered on clubsports with te37 18x9.5 et22 in the front, you will need spacers?

If you remove the helper spring on the KW clubsports, it should fit without any issues, since the helper spring causes the spring perch to sit lower than needed. Coilovers that utilize a 6" linear spring in the front should not lose any inner clearance as the spring perch should still be above the wheel and tire.

I suggest a set of ASTs. For the price, they can't be beat.
FYI, on the clubsports with TE37 18x9.5 +22 fronts with a 265 tire, it clears, but under loading the tire can skim the edge of the spring just slightly. A 3-5mm spacer solves the problem. Last edited by GTM_Challenge; 10-23-2012 at 05:30 PM.. |
