New Vehicle Software?

I've seen quite a few threads on upgrading to new(er) software and it's inherent effects to DCT trans...but what about for 6MT? I'm not sure if this is a stupid question or not, but cut me some slack!

I'm 100% positive I'm running on the original software from 2008 (looking through all the service records, all of which I have, there isn't any mention of software upgrades) so, would there be any benefit(s) to upgrading from either the dealer or from any of the online vendors?
