production completed, waiting to get to port of exit

Car was completed on 9/21, now waiting to get to port of exit. Hope that it makes it to port and is able to get on the Elektra which leaves on 10/29 and arrives in South Carolina in 12 days, ship after that (independence II) leaves on 10/01 and takes 20 days for same voyage.

Either one be fine, but obviously earlier one would be better.

Hopefully you will make the Elektra. Your car should reach the port Thursday or Friday based on the time it took my car.

Firewired: My E93 was finished on the 18th and is awaiting transit to the terminal. My dealer is in Savannah, GA so I think the port of entry for me is Brunswick,GA. Maybe we will be on the same ship.

BMWUSA OC recording states that the car has arrived at the port of exit. Does the recording change once it is on the boat?

The OC site will eventually update, but it seems to lag by days, if not weeks to what is really taking place. In your case, on the east coast, you may have the ship in port on your side of the Atlantic before OC registers itsdeparture. Since you know the ships that are your potential vessels, you can track down the carrier and use your VIN on their website to confirm the ship you are on. For those of us on the west coast, it's harder... I had to get the ship arrival estimate from my dealer, figure out what ship it was, and since there is no cargo tracking site for that ship, I've had to wait until AIS vessel tracking on the US coast picked it up today.

Yes it will. The recording will say "In Transit" once your car is on a boat.

It typically to take 5 to 10 days to get on a boat from the time production is complete. Some guys have had to wait even longer, but it seems things are moving along at a good pace right now.

Thanks.

I was hoping it would make a boat that leaves this coming week. Should I call my dealer or the 800 number to see what boat it is on?
