battery and coding

So it looks like I'll finally be replacing the battery of my 09 m3. Looking at either the z4m or the mini cooper route.

I don't winter drive it and it's a weekend car, is one better than the other?

Also looking at the Schwaben scan tool and it says it can code batteries. Does anyone know if it can code either of those batteries to the m3 or does it only code matching oem spec batteries?

Thanks!

I don’t really understand this post. You’re going to put a Z4M battery in?

what is the Ah rating for the 2 batteries you are considering and what is the Ah rating for your current battery? also, are you going from an AGM to a lead acid or vice versa?

Yup, search the forum, people have done it and some vendors such as EAS suggest it as well. Lose about 15-20lbs compared to our OEM. Save a few bucks. Obviously lose some CCA power but those who don't winter drive have been fine.

No will be AGM. Will have less power but has been proven to still be good for our cars that don't winter drive or are in colder climates.
