Yea painting isnt that hard. Just get some black primer and high temp paint... although I dont think you will need primer with the high temp as the heat will bake the paint on...

I'm sure there are some paint experts here but I would imagine you'd scuff em up with some fine grit sand paper, then paint...? Maybe primer first...

I painted the canisters and tips with high temp paint from Home Depot. I made sure they were clean and scuffed them with sand paper. The finished product looked great and lasted through 3 MN winters.

We have a few sets of gloss powercoat black OEM tips in stock, need them gone!

Otherwise, ceramic coating will give the matte finish you are looking for.

Paint em yourself. Hit the chrome with rough sand paper first. Use hi temp paint and put few coats on allowing to dry in between. Ive done it to cars, trucks and even street bikes.

How do the OEM tips mount? Saw and weld, or are they bolted on with a set screw?

From my understanding after ordering 4 new black OEM tips, they are secured using blind rivets....requires 16 of part number 07129906185.
