74mph in a 40

about a month ago I got pulled over for going 74 in a 40 & they gave me a criminal violation ticket which means that I have to appear in court. I got an attorney. I was wondering if anyone knows what the court would do or that. it's my 1st ticket btw so I'm hoping that'll help.

I don't know how it works in Florida but in NY with an attorney it usually gets knocked down to a no point offense like a failure to yield or no seat belt etc.

God im so happy, i can drive even 150mph on 40mph limit and still get only 150€ ticket and 10 out of 24 points. If there is no possibility police come to your house and get you to jail by force, i would dont care much about it but i dont know us law.

Ok, likely worst case scenario should be judge appointed traffic school. Best case, plea no contest get no points pay fine and court costs.

Not sure about Florida but in allot of states 20 and over can be considered reckless driving.

The speed limit on 295 outside of Richmond is 70.

That's a different version of reckless. When I worked in VA I had concurrent state jurisdiction and 25+ was reckless. Many tickets were written at 24 and under to help out the driver if he/she wasn't a dick and to ultimately do less paperwork and less court appearances.

A good lawyer is going to find some sort of loop hole, thus why traffic related specific attorneys are worth the investment on violations of this caliber. There is a local lawyer that has gotten pretty much everyone's tickets that I know of dropped on some pretty ridiculous things he has found.

My advice tear it up on the freeway on ramps, least likely to get an infraction of any kind since its the responsibility of the merging traffic to meet or exceed the flow of traffic.
