The problem is quality control, so, some work, some don't.

How much for the Cantrall bole plates, if you don't mind me asking? I've already thrown too much money into this "simple" mod, but will need this to feel confident in the suspension. Currently have the camber plates off the car and just running stock plates with pin pulled.

^Why not just share how much you paid?

Also, I could be missing something but I can't tell the difference just by looking at the pictures. Would you mind explaining how/why the plates are better now?

I think I was the 2nd one. Don't think they charged me full price since they weren't tested yet.

Original quote was $80 to replace the bolts. Worth it IMO...considering your other options.

I had a custom plate made. I think bigjae1976 just had the bolts replaced.

I had problems with bolt failure as well. The installation went poorly as the piece didn't really fit properly and needed to be ground down. I'm working with them now, but I'm not too thrilled with this piece. Unfortunately Vorshlag does not yet make a plate for the 1M on stock suspension so I am stuck with the CG part for the moment.

Vorshlag will be a good alternative for M3 OE spring profile camber plates come August.

Should be free, but they will give you grief. GC makes crap, frankly. Upgrade to Vorschlag when you get a chance. Build quality is much higher and your steering won't creak anymore. They are silent.

If you are getting a noise when turning the steering wheel it's most likely caused by the sway bar main mounting bushings. The bushings on the M3/1M are very tight. Three things will address this issue: (1) enlarge the inner diameter of the two bushings and add grease/lube, (2) replace the bushings with aftermarket bushings, or (3) use adjustable sway bar end links to properly align the ends of the sway bars after adjusting ride height. Any one of these will eliminate the "creak" you hear when turning the steering wheel.
