Top Gear Season 16, Episode 1: East Coast Special
Found this on another forum. Some may prefer waiting to watch it on TV, but I couldn't do it. It's an awesome episode!

I much prefer the British / Jeremy Clarkson Top Gear version vice what is airing on the History Channel for Top Gear w/ Tanner Foust, etc

Yeah, the U.S. version is trying too hard to be exactly the same, including the personalities. Plus, they either aren't as funny and/or they are too scripted. That being said, I still like watching the cars and some of the gags they do, so I hope it sticks around, but I think they will have to get rid of Adam Ferrara at least and let them improv a bit more. Ultimately, the show will fail if it just tries to copy the British version.

I think that the East Coast episode is actually episode 7 of season (series) 15. The first episode of season 16, the Middle East Special, will air on Boxing Day, December 26th.
I prefer watching the version that airs on BBC rather than the US re-broadcast. At least when I was last in the US, the re-broadcast was edited to permit commercials. This is why the "final gear" website comes in very handy.....

Too bad. If they didn't insist on copying the Brits they could have a good show. I suppose the weenies running American media are too risk averse. However, no risk, no gain. Cheers.

I used to feel the same way about the US version but those guys started to grow on me....the bootlegging episode made the difference.
I watched Tanner Faust (sp?) on "Super Cars Exposed" for a few years. He forces the delivery a bit but he's a solid driver. He's also an e92 M3 owner and bimmer enthusiast. I think Rutlidge is a keeper - funny, personable and knows his cars. |
