having worked at a bank before I can tell you this, all ATMs have a log of activities so if you can provide an exact date and time you made the transaction the log should say there was a canceled transaction. Now this alone won't prove anything. What will prove it is the money will be out of balance when it gets to the back office for count. and they should start looking into where the money went to. Now I don't know how long they keep the log in records, i would assume at least 3 months, but i dunno. Also if that particular branch does its own counting before sending the money out, there are no saying that some shady tellers would've just took the extra out and pocketed it even under dual control. you should of talked to the bank immediately or waited for them to open and talk to them before the armor truck comes.

I did talk to them immediately, I went inside and told someone what my situation was, all they had me do was talk to a customer service agent over the phone.

Go get your (or better yet, your friends) Remington 1100 (semi-auto 12 ga shotgun)...do slow drive-by...fire several rounds at the ATM and blast it into pieces...when the police come...tell them that you have "no evidence of the transaction"

No really...the ATM should not have balanced...get the video...and set up a meeting...all should get squared away

Years ago I had a had a transaction go bad at an ATM machine. The bank was able to pull up the surveillance video and track the transaction. Within a week or so, my money was deposited correctly into my account.

The only information I needed to provide was the estimated time of the transaction and the details of the transaction (deposit vs withdrawal and amount). Things are a lot more high tech now, so it should be even easier for them to handle the situation.

Shit, I use the BofA automated machine to deposit my checks all the time. I deposit cash now and then, I will be extra careful from now on.

Wells Fargo also has been good to me. I've switched out of BofA yeaaaaars ago.

Wells fargo ftw... guys never deposit cash at the ATM bring that shit to a teller. They can't jack you checks but they sure can jack your cash.. depostied 100 well they could just say they only counted 60 bucks pocket the 40 and you can't do shit. Its not traceable.

Boost - I also currently work for a bank, (not BOA)...the ATM should be out of balance. Depending on when it's audited, you may not get an answer right away...obviously, since this happened back in March. Your letter will get you nowhere. I know your frustrated, but, work on a different approach for a resolution. Good luck getting the money back. Like ZGirl said, May is almost over.

Cars4 - once a counterfeit note is passed, it becomes property of the bank and is then turned over to the fed for cataloging.

OC - this cust sat survey only surveys 250 people and they received a score of 79%. We survey far more customers than that and are slightly above 85%. Believe me when I tell you, I see alot of that 21% from Wachovia, and they are not happy campers.

Nuez - I second that remark on bringing your deposit to a teller. I never make a deposit at an ATM and I only use the 'swipe' ATM's if I can help it so it doesn't have the possibility of eating my card. Technology is great, until it breaks.
