I ran some errands in my 135i today with 6MT and just really enjoy rowing the gearbox in that car. I plan to keep it as long as I can!

tks , by the way what is the name of the dealership your working with that is giving you that awesome deal for the GTR? almost all of the socal dealerships ive dealt with wont even budge from msrp. Most of the socal dealers are asking 5k-30k over msrp

Hey guys, for the people buying GT-Rs, why did you look the other way from a 997 Turbo(s) or GT3(rs)?

Seems like these guys are keeping their M3s, so I doubt it's a money issue.

Initially I didn't consider the 997 Turbo but before I made my decision I did look at what's available on the market in my area and the only thing in the same price range was a 997.1 Turbo with 18K miles. I figure that GT-R actually outperforms that car and newer 911s cost much more so the GT-R is still the best value.

I can't believe you picked a 1M over a 2006 E46 ZCP! The latter is the car people will be talking about in 20 years. It is the closest thing to the CSL we will ever see on this side of the Atlantic.

Yeah man ZCPs are just awesome cars!! But 1M seems like the logical car to get after an E46. Enjoy your GTR, make sure to post pics I've wanted a GTR so badly for so long

I agree, ZCP is indeed a special car that will always have a place in my heart. The 1M is an equally fantastic machine that just does remarkable things for a modern BMW, both will be highly revered down the line. But your GTR will be in the history books. Enjoy the hell out of it

This is very weird logic to me, so it's pure performance and value, nothing else? Seems like I could make that logic work against the GT-R with a handful of cars...adding 50k-70k in mods to just about any car I could smoke a GT-R all day long.

Very odd...

Best value, seems like the common trend with the GT-R. Did you test drive any p cars vs. the gtr? I just wonder about the GT-R going heads up against a GT3Rs or Turbo(s) in terms of ownership, most I've read about people who drives these p cars cars, they wish to drive nothing else, whereas with the GT-R, there seems to be quite a bit of turnover.

I am an engine guy so the S54 will always be my
Pick over the N54.

Prestige and comfort are two important factors for people with the kind of money to spend on cars in the 100k range. Porsches are also damn good if money is no object.
