PS2 front and PSS rear?
My factory rear PS2s are about in need of replacement and naturally I was thinking of the PSS tires as a replacement. However, the front PS2s still have plenty of life left so I do not plan on replacing those.
Question is, would this mix be ok? |

All good. It should not be done on a AWD car, but although not preferable on a RWD, it is ok.

That's what I've been running for the past 9 months and it has been totally fine. I'll replace the fronts with PSS's once they are worn down enough.

If the alternative is buying another set of rear PS2, then yea, run PSS in the rear until you can replace the fronts.

I wouldn't try any track business w/ that setup--or you'd probably understeer off the track lol

Different grip level of fronts vs rears. Doubt it would be as drastic as he said but something to be aware of. Probably will add little more understeer until fronts are changed as well. Just like any other change that affects front to rear grip proportion.

You wouldn't notice any great difference in the balance...PS2 fronts and PSS rear has a similar feel to PSS all round - as long as you add a couple of extra psi to the front PS2s.

In normal driving, it is fine.
If you are cornering at the limit say on track/autocross. Then you will feel the rear has more grip than the front. Not ideal for handling. The difference won't be dramatic. PS2 and PSS are not very far apart in terms of grip and handling.

I've been running Conti DW on the front and PSS on the rear for 18 months now! Car feels fine.
