http://www.ivini-tech.de/en/iphone-i...9d26-223184085 Amazon does not have the new dongle yet. Arian stated that US customers should wait until the "Generation II" model is available on Amazon (with Prime), which he stated should be at the end of this month. |

Just trying to see if VGATE is a true alternative rather than dropping $60~ USD for their preferred dongle. Also, has anyone had luck using the app for LCI retrofits as a previous poster asked? Thanks all! |

MWHat app require a proper dongle to secure the communication, nothing wrong in that. I started using one standard 327lm or whatever but soon ordered one from the BMWhat guys. $25, done deal.

Ymmv but I got the ELM327 wifi dongle off Amazon for like twenty bucks and I've been able to do everything I've wanted so far. Coding for all modules as well as battery registration

I've had no issues with this one in conjuction with the app and all its functions. Nice and lo-profile so you dont accidentally kick it if you leave it in full time for Torque or other monitoring apps. *EDIT 5/21* - Mpowerz32 has purchased this adapter and had no luck getting it to work with the app. So far as I can tell my adapter is identical(ordered from the same place a few months back) but seems to be error free leading me to believe the app may be more finicky about these adapters than I had realized. Maybe I just got lucky? Worst case scenario you've got a cheap lo-pro OBD reader with the most recent communications module that can interface with countless other car apps, but purchase at your own risk. - *EDIT 5/21* Last edited by Shredicus; 05-21-2015 at 02:20 PM.. |

I get "Sorry, your engine is not covered as one of the test engines" when I try to access the parameters screen. Coding compatibility check returns 0 compatible ECUs. Diagnosis screen reports 0 ECUs answered. I do see "yellow" LED flashing on the BT adapter. There is some data going back and forth. But the app is pretty much non-functional for me. Then I tried DashCommand app demo. It was able to read OBD data just fine. It seems that the adapter works. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! My experience so far with Carly app has not been great.
I emailed multiple times through the in-app report tool and their web contact form. So far I have not received any support. Without actual support, i've been reading through their online archive of articles. So far I've found one article mention the "engine not covered as test engine" (what a convoluted error message!) may require the dev to modify the app to include the engine. I may have to ask for a refund if i receive no support from them, since none of the features I paid for is working. BTW, if you just want to read and clear codes and pull some OBD data, I found a great android app called Piston. It's completely free without ads. |

Anyone know how much it is for the battery registration feature?
And do we HAVE to have the new wifi adaptor? Will the old ones not work anymore? .

My generic ELM237 WiFi adapter (bought from Amazon Jan. 2014 for under $20) works flawlessly with this app. |

The same 8$ dongle that I used when I created this thread still works perfect on all the cars I code. Why are you guys spending more than 10$ is beyond me.....

Because plenty of members have tried other dongles and they have failed. I tried 2 that were suggested by owners here and they were bust. In the end I bought the BMWwhat adapter and it works 100% of the time.

Got his app working and coded a few items with the ivini dongle last night. Wondering is there a way to turn off the way ONE high beam comes on when you cut the wheel while making a turn? This has always annoyed me.
