Holiday Family Fun?

I'm enjoying listening to my brother in-laws family bicker and fight, while my wife tries to help get ready for they party. Due to a message conflict, we arrived 2 hours early.
Here I sit reading the forums, trying to remain invisible.

How has your extended family been this season?

Utter disaster. Can't wait to get home tomorrow. From now on, it's Christmas at home. By ourselves.

Not that I'm trying to give out hints to you guys...but one of my best Thanksgivings ever, was when my wife and I took an 8 day cruise by ourselves.

I'm sure it can be applied to any holiday.

We did Vegas over Thanksgiving once. The only part of that that wasn't great was Thanksgiving dinner at Wolfgang Puck's. Otherwise it was a good trip. We keep thinking about Germany or Prague for Christmas some year.

I guess I'm in the minority here: I generally enjoy Holiday time with family. Examples include that Thanksgiving when we drove down to Ensenada. Zero traffic, we had a GREAT T-day dinner of fresh fish tacos and ceviche, and it only cost about $40 for 25+ of us. When we placed the order, the cook had to run over to the fish market and buy another big one, we saw him come back with it. Plus they had the Vikings game on that year.

We had about 25 at our house for Eve this year, with posole and tamales, then a white elephant game with 23 playing.

Lets see.

On the 19th I picked them up from the airport. Before I had gotten the luggage in the car I was told I fat, my hair is all wrong, why aren't the kids there to greet them, I have no idea how rough traveling can be, I looked old, tired, why aren't i jumping of joy to meet them. The list was long.

Then I had booked them to a bad hotel. I had nothing to do with that, except I told them not to stay in the hotel they had chosen.

39 hours and 35 minutes into the visit I told them I'm not a cab, rent a car. They did and it was my fault it was too expensive so they took it only for two days. Now its my fault they can't see the kids enough because we are sick and I sure as hell won't bother to drive them around now.

I'm disrespectful and I should be grateful they came here. They could've spent their c anywhere. I remember offering to pay their trips to anywhere else but here, that has been forgotten also.

I just got a text saying today they want to do fun things with us. Great, I bet they are willing to make the effort too and move their own asses since I have only Peter here as transportation. I can see this day being less stressful as the last 9 days have been
C dinner wasn't traditional.
