I'd like to thank Dwyane Wade for that horrible turnover in the last minute, and especially Kevin Durant and the ice flowing through his veins for giving me a heart attack at age 30. I'd also like to say that was a foul, multiple fouls actually, by Lebron on Kevin Durant on that final shot. I'd also like to say that it was an offensive foul on Kevin Durant that would have given him his 6th, when he charged into Shane Battier. So if we want to place blame on the officials, the first call nullifies everything that followed it. Either way you slice it, Thunder lost this one, and the Heat have momentum.

I am more a Bucks fan then Heat fan, but I have enjoyed watching the Heat since D. Wade came to town. However, the media today is demonstrating LeBron hate, pure and simple. They get on him for everything in the past but at least in this series, he is averaging what Jordan did in the finals and last night between the bank shot, the defense on Kevin (let them play!) and the two made free throws, he sealed the win by himself at the end of the game. Commentary? LeBron playing big? Nothing... He is such a special player it feels like it is ordinary. 30+ points? check, any hoopla over it? nothing. Kevin Durant 30+? OMG Best player ever! Granted, Durant seemed to hit his shots when the focus and need was there the most, but the media really needs to take some Xanax.
Win or lose these two games have been great to watch and I expect the remaining games to be just as entertaining; both sides have such electric players. |

Oh, and if you look up the definition of a charge, you see a picture of the phantom blocking call on Battier to Durant's charge. Anything less than 5 fouls and it is a charge on Durant. The charge Battier took on Durant in the 1st have was less of a charge than the one at the end of the game. When I saw that, I knew Durant had used his "star capital" and would not get any other breaks for the rest of the game.

Yeah, I feel for LeBron man... Even when he was beating my Pistons in the 2000's, I still liked the guy and pulled for him, because, he's a stand up guy.
No bad attitude, very respectful, very gracious... Dude says ONE tongue-in-cheek comment about wanting to win 6 championships and he's a villain. Come one man, that show raised $3M for charity. But not gonna report on that, right? I hope we win just to get the monkey off his back... oh, and to see Battier get one (we grew up in the same town). |

Come on man. LeBron is a stand up guy? He may not be as big of a jerk as Reggie Miller or Charles Barkley, but you are talking about one of the most arrogant, self centered, egotistic players in the game.
I'm not saying that's a bad thing -- Jordan was the same way in regards to his confidence, but he was very different in the way he went about things -- the difference also is that Jordan could have acted any way he wanted and he was still MADLY LOVED, because people at that time had never seen anyone like him aside from Magic. So then here comes LeBron, a man who, up until this season (when he started seeing a psychiatrist I might add), was so completely consumed in himself and the media storm that he brought all that negative attention upon himself. The guy is a basketball icon. You don't think he could have raised $3mil without a spectacle like 'The Decision'? Come on, man! The man has 'Chosen One' tattooed across his shoulders. Does he think he's Jesus? He used to speak in the 3rd person. His entire life he has been told that he is the best there is and will ever be. This season LeBron has taken a big step in becoming more like Durant in his communication to the media. No longer is it me, me, me, but it's more 'Team' and 'We'. He is a LONG way from showing us that he can actually be mature, as he's spent so many years doing his own thing on his own terms (remember how he stormed off the court after the game against the Magic, saying "I just wanted to win"). We are witnessing the best in the game right now . When he does win a ring (which could be this year, or next), it will SURELY silence MANY of the haters out there. But he needs to polish up everything except his game so the media and fans who hate him now, will grow to like and respect him later. I understand if you're a heat fan and have to defend LeBron, but don't overlook all the things that made him one of the most hated on players. The media may have played one role, but LeBron himself played the LARGEST role. Me? I'd blame his PR rep

i don't really disagree with what John said above, but i think the self proclaimed Lebron haters have completely lost all objectivity with him.
i can't remember the last playoff game he failed to score 30 and still, after game 1 everyone was crowing about how he "disappeared" in the Finals game 1. i guess he needs to go out EVERY night and have a game like last night where he gets 30, goes 12/12 and makes every big play in the last 2 minutes to silence them....and even then i'm sure they'll find another thing to criticize him about. dude completely eviscerates the Celtics in Game 6 and 7 and all the jackasses on my FB feed could talk about was how stupid that dancing thing they did in the locker room was. |

Haters are gonna hate Darth. Lebron in my humble opinion, is guilty of The Decision (which he could have handled better, but raising over 2 million dollars for the boys and girls club always gets lost when people mention that), wanting better teammates (which they were unable to provide him with for 6 years in Cleveland), and growing up in a not so priviledged childhood. People are so quick to judge, and I'm not saying his attitude was justified. You grow up the way he did, and suddenly, cause of your talent, you are on the cover of SI, all over ESPN, hell they televised his damn high school games. He never proclaimed himself the Chosen One, or the King, the media did. Put yourself in these KID'S shoes. Having nothing to suddenly having your ass wiped for you by EVERYONE, everyone telling you that your the greatest thing since sliced bread (old cliche but you get the point), and giving you millions on top of millions before your 25, give me a break. This kid was gifted by God his height, large frame, and freakish athleticism. He earned everything else. 6'8 260lbs at 3% body fat is not a gift, its earned. His moves on the court, footwork, jumpshot, handles, thats hours of practice when you are NOT working out. Everyone loved this kid before he left Cleveland. I feel like the decision was his one and only fatal flaw. Cocky? Sure, if you were him wouldn't you be? Nobody followed Kevin Durant around since he was in high school, televising his high school games. Hell, he didn't even go FIRST in the draft. Before you misunderstand me, the point I'm making is, Durant was allowed to grow under the radar. Not many people paid attention to him until the last couple of years. He was allowed to grow, make mistakes, be a kid. He lives in OKC, not many ways to get in trouble there, no media writing articles about you every time you cross the street. Lebron would have been the first pick out of high school if he came out his JUNIOR year. Is/was Lebron a cocky bastard, maybe, but the media and the fans played a huge part in making him that way. It feels like he is attempting to show us a humble side, his experiences are shaping his personality. Give the guy a break, he is 26 years old! How immature can we be at our age, and we don't have to handle 1% of the criticism and attention he does.

I have been a Lebron fan since he was in Cleveland. I honestly don't think he is so arrogant. I've always loved his commercials where he constantly makes fun of himself. He is a good guy. The Decision I guarantee you was not his idea. That's his PR. The PR I'm sure sold it to him as raising money for the kids and he went with it. Today he acknowledges that his "Decision" was not a good decision. Everyone needs to get over it. Bc guess what! When he was a free agent, what team did NOT want him? Everyone wanted him. He came here. Now everyone that wanted him, hates him. If that's not hating, I don't know what is. Poor guy gets criticized for everything he does. He is the BEST player in the NBA. Even when he does win a ring, everyone will just find something else about him to criticize. I can't wait till he accomplishes his championship. I am dying to hear what everyone will say!!

No doubt LeBron has exorcized the demons... Can't believe it went down like it did.
Huge props to the roll players too. Mike Miller? Really? Mike Miller? Hoooooooly shit. 1/2 way through the third I had no idea what was happening... It was just a blur. |
