After Market Wheels Or
The dealers tire pkg for rims and tires.
I need to decide on BMW PKG or not. When you guys go aftermarket rims are you still running RFTs? How much are you paying for tires for you're M 3. |

[QUOTE=Dice13;7694040]Low profile - yes. If you're getting the standard 18s they are 40 series tires and if you're getting the optional 19s they are 35 series. If you buy OEM PS2s, roughly $400/tire.

These cars don't come with a spare I belive, and no RFTs. So when you get a flat what do they give you a patch kit, lol. Does the car have an air compressor. If it has nothing what do you do just call BMW.

This has been discussed ad nauseam - search this forum and you'll likely find answers to all of your questions.
1) The car has no spare. 2) The car does not come with RFTs. 3) There is an "M Mobility" compressor and patch kit in trunk. 4) You can always contact BMW Assist if you have a flat. Further information: - Low profile tires are any tire that has a short sidewall, typically 40 series and lower. - Performance tires and RFTs are not mutually exclusive. RFTs in the high performance category have a ways to go to be as good as non-RFT variants, but are still quite competent and offer a good safety measure to boot. Unfortunately, I don't believe there are any options in stock M3 fitments at this time. What do you mean when you say "dealers tire pkg for rims and tires"? Is this a wheel and tire insurance package or an actual set of rims/tires? If the latter, what rims/tires is this dealer offering you, other than stock?

Whether you want OEM wheels or after market is really ONLY personal preference. A new wheel and tire setup is chosen for aggressive looks and/or better performance. If your budget allows a new wheel and tire package can give your car a more aggressive look, uniqueness, better acceleration, and better handling. The trick is to find the wheel that balances your personal taste for looks, weight savings, and strength...all fitting in your budget. Keep in mind that a "quality" wheel and tire setup will run you anywhere between $3000-$6000 depending on which wheels and tires you spring for.
On the other hand, some prefer the OEM look and the great all around performance of the OEM tires. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any specific questions. |
