Odd startup noise.

I have owned this car for a few weeks now and love it after selling my supercharged e36 m3 and 135i. The car is a 2011 with 75k miles. I am very familiar with most of the normal noises this engine makes and love them, however, I get a strange noise at start up. I can only describe it as the engine sounding like it is running dry for a brief second until oil pressure builds up. This is the only abnormal noise I have noticed and just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced it. The noise only happens at start up and subsides after less than a second of running time. Thank you.

I'm assuming it's the timing chain tensioner. It does it on mine too.

Video is set to private

1- Your video is private and is "not" working .
2- I'm almost 100 % sure that's your start up noise => http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=996069
3- Take your time and read the thread of the link .
4- Let me know if this is your start up noise .

I apologize. I made the video public. I have read the thread mentioned above and do not have that noise mentioned. It is not a metallic clunk but instead a noise that I can only relate to my aforementioned description. I searched pretty well and listened to most of the startup videos I could find.

You don't need to apologize , that's no problem .
First I thought that you had the clunck noise when your S65 was cold at start up , because many S65 owners have this noise .(your video was private)
Sorry for that .
For your video now...It's working , and so I was listen to it..
And your S65 sounds just perfect , no abnormal noises , it sounds exactly the same as mine .
