Girlfriend wants a Mini

While I know this is a M3 forum. I did some searching and didn't find anywhere with people actively discussing car pricing. I also figured with all our car buying savvy members some one might of known someone who has purchased a Mini.

So my question is what kind of pricing have you heard of? Near invoice? Below Msrp?

Thanks

you can get a Mini at cost or close to cost. Just like buying an M3, the more time you put into it the lower your price will be. The dealers will tell you that they won't give you a big discount but I suggest you go to Edmunds.com or similar site, build the car and then press the "send to dealers for quote" button. Soon you'll get calls from about 4 dealers and they'll know you're shopping around. Agree to a $ figure above cost and then buy it off the lot or order from Mini and custom build it. So many options with Mini's...very hard to find one in stock with what you want......

Great advice. MINI doesn't markup their cars like other manufacturers, at least this has been my experience, we are on our second MINI and we love everything about it. Just a word of advice, stay away from the auto transmission. They are junk IMHO. Good luck.

I love my Mini S! MSRP was $27K purchased for $24K. I was happy with that.

My best buddy is on his second Cooper S and my ex-gf has a base cooper. Been behind the wheel of them for miles and miles, plus my last company had a Mini dealership. Just sold an 09 Cooper JCW at my work. Fun car. Agreed that the manual trans is the better choice. If she can afford it, get the Cooper S. Only thing I hate about the Mini are the seat controls/levers are in tight spots so if you have big hands, it's annoying to adjust your seat constantly from driver to driver. Expect pricing closer to invoice for coupes, but closer to MSRP for convertibles but even so, it's still close since the markup or profit margin is small.

Got my fiancé a base cooper at $800 below msrp. It was a custom build so can't really haggle much unless you plan driving one off the lot.
I did however got a MF of 0.0012 with multiple security deposit for 3 year lease.

This was around thanksgiving last year.

I hate the location of the window controls. Can't access it if you have a large coffee mug or bottled water on the cup holder.

Golffrr-
You'll really enjoy the Mini driving experience. I had a JCW prior to the M3 and those cars really do handle like go-carts and have quite a bit of power. I think it will surprise you. My girlfriend drives a Clubman so at least I still get drive a Mini when I want......
